Wouldn't oil additives just offset whatever additives thats included in the x brand of oil?
Also, after having different brand of oils I just preferred the oil with better sound dampening qualities since isn't a noisy tappet equals more friction thus more wear?
Anyway from all the oils I've tried here are the results.
Royal purple 5w40 - quiet, smooth sounding
Pertua 15w50 - very loud
Petron Trekker 15w40 - loud
Mobil Delvac1 5w40 - loud
Delo sports 10w30 (current) - quiet, smooth sounding
Will try Delo400 next.

February 16th, 2019 02:56 PM #78the oil is there for lubrication, not for dampening noise.
dishonest car sellers would put in heavier oil, to make the worn engine sound quieter.
my opinion.
