is it normal? di naman yung parang nakulo, pero may pakonti-konting bubbles lang. non-maintenance free ang battery,e..ok naman na charging..inobserbashan ko lang, kasi medyo wet ang battery ng liteace ko,e..

is temperature also a factor on the battery performance? or mas maganda lagyan ko ng heat shield/insulator yung battery bay nung van para di masyado pag-seep-in ang init ng makina sa battery bay?

AFAIK itsnormal for the water to boil. Its due to the heat created by the chemical reaction of the acids, electricity and water inside the battery.

korek si userfriendly. everytime you start your engine and the alternator runs, it sends an electrical charge through the system that powers the car - and charges your battery. The charge is applied to your battery plates and when the charfe is applied, the acid and water mix starts to bubble up.

the water actually is NOT boiling. the bubbles you see is hydrogen, a by-product of electrolysis. that is normal.

caution: if you are charging a battery with a battery charger then please don't smoke or have any open flame when checking the battery. the hydrogen can explode (and yes it has happened many times). even the heat generated by an incandescent lamp bulb placed near the battery can cause the hydrogen to explode.

pero syempre if the engine is running then the fan negates the concentration of hydrogen as there is circulation of fresh air in the engine bay.

alam ko, maski hindi na buksan kasi may maliliit na butas na yan sa takip, if you look at it. yan ang sabi rin ng battery dealer kapag bumibili ng new battery. tinatanggal nila ang sticker sa ibabaw ng mga caps after pouring in the battery water para daw maka-singaw yung acid fumes while it is being charged by the alternator.

well it is always good practice to have the battery ventilated to get rid of the hydrogen gas while it is charging, whether by the alternator or by a battery charger. as far as the temperature is concerned as long as the normal operating temperature of the battery is not exceeded then it is ok. di naman ilalagay ng car manufacturer ang battery sa lugar na ma-exceed ang temperature na yan e. the battery actually is more efficient at higher temperatures. the issue with temperature is more on safety.

oh did you mean the battery caps? it's not necessary to remove the caps because those have small breather holes in them. tinatanggal lang yung sticker covering the holes (the battery dealer usually does it when they sell you the battery. as for MF battery, no need to open it.

check mo rin palagi ang white acid build-up sa terminals at sa bolts&washers sa ilalim ng patungan ng battery. corrosive kasi ito and you can remove them by hosing it with water & brushing it with an old toothbrush at the same time. tapos spray some wd-40 para hindi na madali kapitan ulet nito.

no it is not normal for the battery to be wet. that liquid is most probably battery acid. when the battery is overcharging (due to high charging voltage) then the release of hydrogen is faster. this produces more bubbles, and as a consequence produces acid mist.

have your alternator checked, baka defective na ang voltage regulator. the charging voltage should not go above 16.6 volts.

the ff applies to all 12 volt lead-acid batteries:

minimum charging voltage = 12.9 volts (lower than this the battery will not charge)
optimum charging voltage range = 13.8 - 14.7 volts (the normal setting of a car regulator)
maximum charging voltage = 16.6 volts (above this the battery will lose water. even higher and the acid will begin to mist, causing the battery to become "wet".)

for a 24 volt battery, just multiply the values by 2.

12.5-14.1 lang lang laro ng charging,e... pachek ko lang din yung battery, bumababa to 12.1-11.9 pag matagal di napatakbo ang sasakyan,e...di nagreretain ng charge,e...

wala naman naka-direct on sa battery..or grounded circuit..
