Hi to all,
Ask ko lng kung normal lang na parang hirap humatak sa 5th gear. I was driving in SCTEX going to Subic. Every time may inclined na paakyat and Im on the 5th gear bumabagal yung spped ko. From 110km/hr bumababa till 80km/hr kapag paakyat. Normal lng ba ito. By the way im using altis 2002 1.6L.

It's not normal. We have a 2007 Altis m/t and it never had power concerns even when fully loaded on the highway or climbing up the mountains.

Start with the basics first: What's the mileage of your car? When did you do the last tune-up? Change oil? Change of fuel and air filters? MAF sensor cleaning? Have you done a compression test?

Just change oil a couple of weeks ago, as for the air filter just did cleaning by blowing compress air because it looks like still new. Mileage is about 70K. Have not done MAF sensor cleaning, will try to DIY. Have not done compression test. By the way only happen in 5th gear and when driving in an inclined road upward. But no lack in power if shifted to 4th gear. other gear also OK.
