Technically it can be done but it would be simpler and more reliable if a full engine swap is done.

Compatible engine complete with ECU, intake sensor and uncut wiring harness
    efi fuel pump

For advise on pricing, you might want to call up shops like:

    SPEEDLAB
    871 Quezon Ave. Quezon City
Tel. 376-4648, 376-4651 (look for Ferman)
    email: speedlab*speedlab.com.ph

    or

    SPEEDYFIX
312 Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila
    SHOP - (02) 717-4202
    MIGS - (0917) 534-7636
Monday to Saturday, 9am to 6pm

They can source the engine and do the swap for you.

palitan mo nalang ng buo...ung efi na talaga.. direct bolt-on lang basta galing sa 91 galant din or 87-93 lancer or sa RVR..

papalitan mo nalang siguro is ung addition ng electrical pump and the fuel tank.

It's probably technically possible but using a Lancer engine would result in too much load on a small engine resulting in higher fuel consumption. Best to look for the 2.0L efi engine that this car came with.

Depends if the EFI fuel pump pickup would match the mounting points on the old tank.

It's safer to get a replacement tank than trying to modify the existing tank. Better seal and less chance of a spark igniting a fire (during tank modification).

so kahit galing sa galant mismo na efi engine walang assurance na di ka magpapalet ng fuel tank?

I am not sure of this since I am not that familiar with the Galant. That is why I suggested calling the shops I listed for further detailed help.

yup..pero basicaly un yon.. sabi din kasi as i know, mostly ang EFI-engined cars have a "chambered" fueltank, in order to minimize ung slooshing ng fuel.

ibenta mo na lang yang kotse mo at bumili ka ng fuel injected car para walang surprises , baka pagconvert mo hindi tumakbo ng maayos yan .

at the end pagawa ka na lang ng pagawa.

I was actually going to ask the threadstarter if there is any reason why he would prefer to keep the current car and upgrade the engine instead of selling it and buying a used car with lesser vintage like a late 90s to early 2000 Accord or Camry or Cefiro.

The cost of an engine swap can easily exceed the current value of the existing car.
