^ Had it replaced, im just observing na lang medyo malamig na panahon pero so far OK na. Another experienced gained, but i hate working on the van- very cramped.

Re thermostat, it has been discussed several times na, one reason kaya sila ang major pollutant sa lansangan.

kasi po sir kung tatanggaling naten t-stat baka sa short trip everyday commuter like a <12 km baka di na umabot lagi sa normal operating temp like a an innova.

i am trying to illustrate the effects of tstat on our engines. as i said, we are in the tropics. kahit walang tstat, we will hit the normal operating temp within 10 minutes. kung may winter sa pinas, we cant definitely reach the normal operating temp even in an hour without it. we will even need to preheat our cars thru electrical plugs in our homes. wala akong innova but by experience, yong delivery van ko dati na L300 na tinanggalan ko ng tstat, idle ng 5 mins, normal operating temp na.

So iinit siya eventually. Pag may tsat, may time pa na "lumamig" yung tubig.

May coolant ba yung L300 mo?

You can't be sure na normal temp na since analog ang gauges ng L300. TStat starts to open at 82C and fully opens around 92C. For your engine to function properly, it must be around 89C(normal idling)-95C(heavy revving), yan ang trabaho ng Tstat maintain that temp.

the never ending story of thermostat nga ano.....now, answer this. bakit yung pickup ko na turbodiesel (no intercooler) nasolve ko yung "rising temperature on stop and go traffic or stand still" nya nung nilagyan ko ng thermostat? at di na rin nagbabawas ng tubig after mainstall an ko ng thermostat.

in your case, palitin na talaga yung thermostat. the thermostat is a replaceable item. not a repairable or removable item. mas silent pa sa ngayon yung diesel ko kesa nung walang thermostat.

tanggalin mo thermostat, magoovercool yan on most cases. and what do diesels need to be able to attain good combustion? HEAT is the answer. the thermostat is there to regulate or maintain the operating temperature. be it gas or diesel. mainit lahat ng engines. hindi lang 4d56. some newly designed engines also operate on higher temperatures for greater heat transfer than what we have now.

istorya lang yan ni manong sa kanto. huwag kang magpapaniwala. peace out brader! hehe.....if you want to prolong your fleet, install an mo ng thermostat. sa casa ka na bumili. mas sulit kesa yung murang nabibili sa auto supply.

in my case, may extra thermostat pa nga na nakalagay sa glove box ng pipip ko just in case.
