200kph? how about the cars that can't do 200 or electronically limited to under 200? BS advice IMO.
I usually do a high rpm sprint on a stretch of Macapagal on a weekend para konte lang kotse.

January 20th, 2006 07:24 PM #22Yup "Italian Tune Up" ang tawag dyan. What I do is I run at roughly 500 rpm below redline for a prolonged period of time on 2nd or 3rd gear. Pero mahirap din iwasan na isagad pa minsan minsan. Hehe.

you don't need to run at 200 kph naman po, kulet nyo. just full throttle, and you can do that at low gears - 1st, 2nd, 3rd. the object of the exercise is to flush out carbon, not to endanger your life.

i'd rather have a carbon filled engine that die trying to clean it...
unless:
1.our roads are 6 lanes both sides
2.slow cars are in the slow lane
3.hiway would be like 500kms long
4.fuel would be 10pesos per liter
hehehe...

January 22nd, 2006 10:11 PM #30As long as you know your engine is in a good condition why not? but if your engine is making funny sounds and may have a risk of blowing up under stress, forget it :D
