October 9th, 2009 08:26 PM #1to the masters out there,
may tanong lang po ako regarding sa battery ko...6 month old 3sm motolite gold battery for a starex.
Tanong ko lang po kung normal na umiinit yung negative terminal when i try to start my engine... actually kasi i'm having problem with hard starting, so nung nagtry ako mga 10 times na redondo, nag ccrank naman ang engine kaso ayaw mag start. pag punta ko sa hood halos napaso ako sa negative terminal ng battery ko. ang init nya,, is that normal?
TIA

October 9th, 2009 08:52 PM #2perhaps you best replace the battery cables with a bigger size. in my experience, korean vehicles tend to use thinner cables than what i would be comfortable with. kung malasin ka, isang araw, sa dami ng attempts mong mag-start, ay masusunog ang cable mo. palitan mo na ngayon bago ito mangyari. yung buong wiring harness sa harap kung puede.
secondly, bakit hard starting? diesel? baka kailangan nang palitan ang glow plugs.

October 9th, 2009 10:54 PM #3Check your battery clamps, they might be loose or dirty. Upgrading to thicker wires can also help.

Hindi normal pag umiinit negative terminal ng battery mo . Check battery clamp for corrosion or replace if worn out and keep it tight both clamp in the battery terminal.

October 10th, 2009 07:55 PM #5thanks for all your helpful inputs!! connections aren't lose as i double-checked on all the wirings after lumamig.. buong-buo pa naman ang wirings malalaki kasi at bago pa. Pati battery almost 4mos palang..
I'll just try to be aware about what may happen when hard starting comes in the life of my starex. anyways the hard starting was caused by a leaking/faulty fuel feed pump. may pumapasok daw na hangin.. glow plugs were already new. just had my fuel feed pump changed and so far so good ang starting 1 click lang... fingers still crossed, under observation for 1 week..
Kudos to all!!!
Sensing a hint of weakening on our 6yr old Thai Pana DIN74, went to the distributor to have it...
Which is better? Amaron or Panasonic Battery?
