December 26th, 2021 02:54 PM #41Aysus... ok lang. There's no need to be embarrassed. As if upscale area ang Manila.
Yes, tama ka diyan that you can’t control your environment, makikibagay ka to it, so rather than curse at your sh*tty neighbors, adapt. While protecting you car(s) you’ll be doing the community a service pa.
You many not be able to eliminate the threat completely, but you can lessen the risk if lahat ng pumasok na daga sa grarahe & bahay “marked for death” kahit di mo mapatay silang lahat.
We protect yung mga bodega namin (commercial scale operations). We stake our (main) incomes on this. We had to know what we were facing as part of running a business, learn what works and not or lose $$$, big time. We don't need to buy fakes either. Sa scale ng operations namin we can deal with the manufacturers/suppliers directly, kahit wholesale pa.
I don't know everything though. If good ideas are posted, and it might help us too, why not?

December 26th, 2021 03:16 PM #42That's how they work. Lalo na pag may bagong bagay sa area nila. They "test" things sa umpisa, titikim here and there, and then after a few days pag napanisin nila na nothing happens, saka nila uupakan.
Matalino talaga.
Yung sa isang bodega namin, tinira nila yung mga sacks sa ilalim & likod (out of sight para hindi kaagad mahalata)
Sometimes you'll see rat/mouse poop colored the same color as your poisoned baits. Ayos... patay kayo in a few days! LOL
Pero judging by your feedback, convinced ako mice lang ang problem mo. Mice tend to "nibble" lang (medyo mahinhin) pero over time, grabe na damage. Pag rat yan naku, barumbado't siga yung mga yan. Caged na texas, kalapati etc., anything that can't escape will be eaten alive.

December 26th, 2021 03:22 PM #43What I think Papi means is blocking access dun sa garage.
Don't block off anything in your engine bay or under the car.
Chorus ulit everyone in the forum: Noooooo!
May commercially available products to seal holes sa structures (kahit plain cement wil do though) but sa experience namin, mice & rats are like water... they will find a way, sooner or later.

December 26th, 2021 04:05 PM #44Ang complicated naman hahaha
As I said, pag mice, fly paper lang with leftover food in the middle. Mura pa.
If gusto mo sustainable/reusable yung mga plastic na snap taps (parang plastic jaws where you put the bait in between) ok din & very effective. I won't recommend specifc products or put up links to online sellers, baka mapag dudahan pa akong endorser or nag invest ng pera sa company nun.
Tama ka to be worried for your car. Mabuti if hindi lang mag start. Ang electrical fire sa kotse is one of the most dangerous and hardest to put out, andaming flammable pa na bagay (carpet, seat foam, oils etc.).

December 26th, 2021 05:10 PM #45these raticides do not work instantly.
it takes a couple of days, siguro.
let us not expect the rodent to die there beside the poison.
some poisons cause bleeding in the rats' eyes, 'encouraging' them to come out from their dark hiding places, into bright light, where, hopefully, they die in full view.
or, they die elsewhere, in which case, the only presumption of death that we have, is that the rat bites, or their metabolic by-products, have disappeared.Last edited by dr. d; December 26th, 2021 at 06:10 PM.

Exactly, they're not targeting your car specifically naman, it's just when they roam, they saw an opening which led them there, otherwise they would have been diverted elsewhere. As for those who have discovered their way in, hopefully the poison takes care of them soon.

If I may add to the good doctor’s comments, this mode of action is also an advantage in terms of safety. If accidentally consumed by children or pets/livestock, there will be ample time to bring the victim to a doctor, where they can be placed under observation and the supportive medical interventions can be taken, if necessary.
We take hospitals for granted here sa NCR, but in the provinces, like in the case of workers on remote farms, help may sometimes be far and difficult to get to...
