Battery Discharge - What are the possible causes?

Good Day Fellow Tsikoteers.

2 araw ko pong hindi pinaandar ang kotse ko, tapos pag check ko po last sunday evening, nadischarge na po ang battery. Ano po kayang possible causes nito? Thanks in advance.

your battery could be weak na or there is a live ground somewhere.

Most likely some shorted accessory if this is not a regular thing for you. Dalhin mo sa electrician na para malaman. Mahirap din ang trial and error sa ganyan kung hindi sanay. Pero don't rule out as well the possibility na baka battery na mismo ang may issue. Minsan tiyempo na din kasi.

had the same problem some months back, the culprit?.... over voltage output of alternator! replaced alternator, problem gone...hth

1. baka namamataqy na battery mo. ayaw nang kapitan ng karga. dapat nang palitan. madali namang malaman yan.. pa-tingin mo sa well-equipped battery shop.
2. poor charging: defective alternator, dirty electrical contacts, loose alternator belt.
3. malakas ang diskarga habang naka-garahe. may short sa kotse o sa accessories.
4. may naka-iwanang naka-on na accessory o lights. na-ubos ang baterya sa tagal ng dalawang araw.

if the battery is just discharged but otherwise in good condition, it takes just 5 to15 minutes to charge it enough using a cheap home battery charger for autos, so as to be able to start the engine. once started, driving the car will further charge the battery to full-functional capacity.
but we have succeeded in push-starting a car with its almost-dead battery. it's easy to push-start an EFI engine.
if you car is a diesel-powered engine, it will probably take 1-3 hours, depending on your charger's and battery's capacities. the glow plugs alone eat up a very lot of battery power, leaving very little for the starter. and there is no guarantee that the glow plugs would have heated enough to ignition temperature using the first charging.

i haven't visited a battery charging station in decades.. we just use the battery charger at home.

ganito problem ko now bago lng un battery ko 2 months pa lng motolite enduro., pinalitan ko lng ilaw ng mga signal lights ko then kinabukasan ayaw n magstart ng sasakyan ko.. pinacharge ko un battery ko cost me 40pesos.. di ko alam kung meron bang nagshort na wire siguro or bka un alternator ko na un problem.. tanung ko lng din pde ko din ba papalitan un battery ko since sakop pa ng warranty ng motolite to na 15months warranty.. thanks

I have 2 power amp sa soundsystem ng innova ko, one day na discharged ang battery ko after 2 weeks mo non use. I checked if kung shorted ang wires. Nasa .60amp pala ang standby ngmga amps ko na directly c8nnected to the batteries. Compared to car only electronics (no amps) standby of .08amps.
