    if you upgraded your alternator output capacity, of course something changed and another thing has to change. for example: your output went up from 80 amps to 90 amps, the fusible link or the pacific fuse for the alternator output wire ( the biggest wire connected to the alternator on the BAT terminal) has to change to the new output; next, the output wire from the BAT terminal may have to be changed to a fatter or bigger gauge wire. all the other electrical circuits to the load remains unchanged and since they rely on the battery too for supply.

    saan sa imus yung sophia? bought my bighorn from that place and would like to upgrade the alternator to 120 amp. if possible. tia

    Answer:
    Yes. you need thicker wires.

    List of wire gauge sizes for your specs. If not google it.

    This is very important information because your wires will and definitely get hot. Imagine this.. 10 Amps X 12 Volts = 120 Watts You get the full 10 amp difference when your alternator is fully charging. The wires can melt. That's IF and only IF your battery is empty or your system suddenly needs 120 Amps. Sample is by starting your car.
