I've spent an ample amount of time inspecting the Wingle, Cowry, Haval M2
    and particularly the Hover H3

the hover H3 that was displayed in MIAS already has the new 2.5 liter commonrail turbo intercooler engine that pumps out 300nm of torque as opposed to the 2.8liter engine before...and guess what...ITS ALREADY ASSEMBLED HERE at the las pinas facility according to the people around the booth....

the features were quite nice a reverse cam and DVD HU, sunroof and some other goodies that you wouldn't find in a car that is priced as low as the hover....

also, on all of the china cars that was present in the show, I can say that Great Wall is well above in terms of build quality compared to the other china brands....I compared the parts and materials used in the car...the texture of the plastics and metals that was used in the engine, interior and exterior parts...and the over all feel...and it was quite top notch and up par with the japanese counterparts believe it or not...

But Im not sure about the engine performance and ride comfort....but if they are confident to announce that their commonrail engine has some Bosch artistry on it then a test drive is what I need...

Overall, if ever anyone is already decided to go chinese in their next car purchase, they should probably consider Great wall.....because aftersales, maintenance and parts availability wise I think its already reliable considering the units are CKD and knowing that filipinos assembled it... also it somewhat gives you a sense of nationalistic pride because you somewhat helped the local economy on purchasing it....plus you can crossout the QC issues that is prevalent in chinese assembled units...

Please do schedule a test drive and update us about it. Considering the specs of the new Hover engine, it should be more powerful than the Fortuner 2.5D4D already. Now all they need is an A/T option. And how much does it cost?

The previous Hover had halfway decent plastics and interior materials... though switchgear quality was still lacking. Don't know about the new one... but the new Haval's switchgear, interior materials and build are now finally up to snuff compared to the mid-rung and lower-rung major manufacturers.

Should be able to get an official test-drive soon.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

I have no idea with the previous one...what was I able to do is compare it to Foton and chery..

pa update nalang din sir Niky if the switchgear issue is already cured...once your able to test drive it...

BTW if I may add, Unlike the 2 other brands, GW has a more neat touch...and with regards to the engine parts (e.g. Cylinder head cover, air intake, fuse box etc.) it has a different feel also when you touch and knock on it...the edges wasn't sharp unlike the other 2 and the plastics feels much more rigid....and the metal components looks and feels nice also and the screws that was used looks better compared to other two....BTW I'm just basing my opinion on the hand feel and my standard is based on the established car brands...

the only thing I'm not happy about is the absence of the dual aircon and the front head room...although the old agent told me na sinusukuan nya yung lamig...but I'm in doubt if it can really cool the whole cabin during a mid day traffic on summer...and with the headroom although I'm not sure if the seat adjustment was already on the lowest setting (I was kinda lost with regards sa adjustment)...But really the roof is quite low...

1.150m sir...the same price as before....But I'm quite puzzled kung bakit hindi nalang ginawang turbo intercooler yung existing 2.8 liter CRDi and settled to 2.5 then had a better turbo installed...

although cost I think is the reason...pero ano nalang ba yung magdagdag ka ng another 50k on the price....But your able to compete naman at the front runners of the segment...

BTW, did I mentioned that it has electronic seat adjustment? really nice feature I can say...

and for the A/T, the agent also said that its already on he plan book....

Hope to get a test drive soon.

Yes, compared to Chery and Foton, the interior quality and build of Great Wall has always been very good. The products have always felt solid, and at least feel a lot more modern when driven.

Not quite as good as the Korean or Japanese... at least last year's models, but we'll see about these new ones when the test drives come.

i was impressed by the cool bear. its price (700k) impressed me, too. very tempting. on the way out of the exhibit, i passed by a stall where i bought a chinese LED flashlight. the next day, the flashlight wouldn't turn on! i disassembled it and fixed it (defective switch). it was then that i remembered, some chinese electromechanical assemblies (like cars) aren't quite up to snuff yet.. i think i'll wait some more and keep surfing for long-term feedback.
