This one is actually not a copy, since Ford supplied parts to HongQi thru a CKD scheme.
Those were actually license-made. BTW the Kia J2 engine resembles a lot the Nissan TD27...
Zhongua, the manufacturer of Brilliance cars, actually has a partnership deal with BMW.
These older Chinese vehicles were actually based in Russian models. BTW some of those Russian upper-class vehicles had its drivelines copied from Ford and Chrysler, while the Lada cars were initially license-made versions of the Fiat 124.

February 3rd, 2012 01:53 PM #9660 years na gumagawa ang China ng cars. Sablay pa rin talaga ang quality.
Na-overtake pa sila ng Koreans.
hanggang ngayon jeepney, owner, AUV parin ang kaya gawin
wala pa nga Tata Nano equivalent ang Pinas
na-overtake ng India ang PinasLast edited by uls; February 3rd, 2012 at 01:58 PM.

February 3rd, 2012 04:10 PM #97Ayun nga. Before, South Korea was a very poor country. They started late in the auto industry and copied off old Japanese designs. Now they are among the best car manufacturers in Asia, even starting to rival the Americans and Europeans. Before, Taiwan was also a poor country. But look at their Luxgen line of SUVs and MPVs and you'll be utterly amazed And then like Thailand they manufacture lots of vehicles too what with numerous Mitsubishi, Nissan, Honda and Ford high end models being made there. And all this was achieved even with much hampering from China to isolate Taiwan's international success. Then there's China. Disgusting as their car making methods may be, they have at least evolved. Now starting to venture into making their own designs and engines (though the basic technology is still adopted). And then even fielding participants in the Dakar Rally (though there are rumors that the Great Wall vehicles were in fact cloned BMWs
). The Philippines was once among the top countries in Asia, ranking second to Japan. And now we are still doing the same thing.
Even the more modern AUVs (Anfra) have died out and only jeepneys are left along with a handful of car assembling plants and even the number of models being assembled are going down with our inability to produce the higher class vehicles and most of our parts supply dependent on Thailand. On a side note though, that Starex-Jeepney looks really good. I wonder what engine it uses and how it looks like inside? At least it made the effort to make itself look good, just look at the horrendous condition of the jeepneys in Metro Manila!

yung ibang japanese car brands pala naka tie up sa china? thats is why china is producing copy cats of the japanese vehichles...
i think it means that the cars that china are producing is the same car that the some japanese brands are selling....
i think they are one and the same.... kaya pala ang sabi nung freind ko na naka chinese made car(joylong) parehong pareho daw ang parts ng van nila sa japanese made one(toyota grandia).... if you will look closer dun sa mga parts ng van nya you can also see the japanese car logo na katabi yung logo ng joylong... and he first saw the joylong van na nakadisplay sa labas ng toyota commonwealth..
any toyota grandia owners here? can you look at your windshield, alternator, balljoint etc. if meron nga bang toyota and joylong logo or any chinese car logo?
if meron logo din po ng joylong or any chinese car brand baka po nga it is one and the same.... may ibang parts lang na toyota talaga... kung baga halo halo po....

China is a large country that has also a large demand for cars, including some higher-end ones but also the cheapest and lower-quality stuff ever. Designing a body is the easiest part, but until they start to develop their own engines they will still use outdated Japanese engine projects...
Iyong sa customer 's cradle iyong brand Ng 3d alignment machine nila is John bean. Ok Naman...
