Hi just want to put all the problems that we encountered since the day we bought our optra....
Model/Year/Transmission/Odo:Optra/2006/Manual Transmission/40,000km
Problem: ....
Parts Changed:. .....
Solution: ....
Problem 1: i have a leaked in my transmission system (in the left front wheel) . Cannot find the drain for the transmission?
Parts Changed: Oil seal ( for manual transmission ) cost 750pesos
Solution: Changed the oil seal, manual transaxle fluid and gasket. Problem solved!
Problem 2: Aircon Switch malfunctioning, aircon switch must always be switch on. If you switch it off the green light indicator will not function properly need to switch on several times.
Parts changed: None ( switch price 8k pesos ) wooooo!!!
Solution: Just on the control knob of the fan and dont switch off the switch.. i hope it will last that long.
I read in some articles why the fuel pump of optra always failed its because the wiring in the left fender of the car gets wet thats why as time goes by the wiring will then be shorted.. so better sealed it. take a look on your left fender where the water goes in.
I hope you can share all the problems you've encountered.
Thanks

how much did you sell it?

Yes.
Haha
Oh well.. I sold it for 285K. Rush sale na kasi. Biglang nagkulang yung pang down para sa Tucson. Ayoko pa sana ibenta eh.
Optra is a great car. Very comfortable ride.
*Edit: May naalala akong isa pang problem. Pero not Major major. Nyahaha
Problem: Fuel Gauge not accurate.
Part(s) Changed: Fuel Sender (Kung tama yung pagkaka alala ko)
Solution: Replaced Fuel Sender (The one that sends the fuel amount to the gauge) Php 1,600Last edited by Starex_Gold; August 27th, 2010 at 11:54 PM.
