My question is, would you have it changed considering that it has only runned for 30200km?. PLEASE ADVISE, Tsikoteers. thanks

If ever, ano kayang brand ang ok? Thanks.

I'm interested in getting fog lamps installed on my 2006 Optra (base model). Any ideas how much this would cost to get done in the casa or another place outside?

The Blaupunkt Manual says the Optra is equipped with a radio which can be switched on even without the key. The radio will run for 1hour and switch off after that to save on battery power.

Is this feature seen as a defect be some people? I find this a good feature on my Optra. I can leave people in the car whilst bringing the car keys with me and they at least have something to listen to.

the rad months ago was replaced along with the aux fan and thermostat not more than 3 months ago, with chevy service center, if it continues heating the engine it might destroy the engine so i wanna pinpoint the problem.. and diagnose it correctly, i dont like the idea of replacing everything, just to make it work... if one can diagnose where is the source, well be answering the problem right on..
test engine oil leak? test coolant leak? test rough idling? test engine performance? any engine noise? ticking sound? taktaktak?

Well, if your car has been running fine prior to this problem, then there is a high probability that the trouble is within the cooling system only.

General Description
The cooling system maintains the engine temperature at an efficient level during all engine operating conditions. When the engine is cold, the cooling system cools the engine slowly or not at all. This slow cooling of the engine allows the engine to warm up quickly.
The cooling system includes a radiator and recovery subsystem, cooling fans, a thermostat and housing, a coolant pump, and a coolant pump drive belt. The timing belt drives the coolant pump.
All components must function properly in order for the cooling system to operate. The coolant pump draws the coolant from the radiator. The coolant then circulates through water jackets in the engine block, the intake manifold, and the cylinder head. When the coolant reaches the operating temperature of the thermostat, the thermostat opens. The coolant then goes back to the radiator where it cools.
This system directs some coolant through the hoses to the heater core. This provides for heating and defrosting. The surge tank is connected to the radiator to recover the coolant displaced by expansion from the high temperatures. The surge tank maintains the correct coolant level.
The cooling system for this vehicle has no radiator cap or filler neck. The coolant is added to the cooling system through the surge tank.

Steam means boiling water, low pressure, and air in the system. The cooling system of the Optra is a pressurized system. For the Optra, you will see two hoses that go the the surge tank, one for the expansion of the coolant and the other for the return of the coolant. These are controlled by valves.

Surge Tank
Open Pressure of The Pressure Valve
kPa(psi)
117.7~147.1(17.07~21.34)
Open Pressure of The Vacuum Valve
kPa(psi)
9.8(1.42)

If there is failure here, the cooling system will not function correctly.

If the pressure valve opens too early (at a lower pressure) the coolant will boil over. Hence the steam.

for all owners of
CHEVY OPTRA LS 1.6 DOHC E-TECH 2
we do complete overhaul and top overhaul.
we have our own optra ls 1.6 dohc.

from piston, piston liner or sleeve, piston rings, engine valve, valve guide, valve seal, lapping, oil seal, head gasket, intake and exhaust gasket, pcv valve(the hardest to find). rear oil seal.
and the crucial timing and the most hardest to determined for most mechanic outside casa,

we already knew where to find these product, most of them are not available in thunder. even casa for PCV valve which is only 60,000 kms and need to be repalce.

here some quotation:

valve seal : 2450
valve guide : 1350 sets
engine valve : 650 each
head gasket: 1350 orig
camshaft oil seal: 280 each orig
PCV valve: 1200 orig
piston liner or sleeve : 1200 each plus 4000 labor for machine shop.
Ignition coil: OEM php 3500

labor:

top overhaul (or dukot).
php 4700
plus machine shops labor:
we can buy your parts or you.
3 to 5 days depending on machine shop availability

complete engine overhaul:
from valve seal piston rings, camshaft, throttle body cleaning, all gasket replace and oil ring replace
php 8500
plus machine shop labor.
5 to 8 days depend on machine shop availability.

PCV VALVE valve last only for 60,000 kms.
its only php1200.orig

the chevy optra timing is crucial if the mechanic will do it for the first time is so confusing,
and if he's not sure your engine valve get bend (550 each x 16pcs + machine shop labor +valve guide php1350)

we allready encounter bend engine valve (optra) due to timing.
php 25,000 all in all.

we do home service for your optra.

depends on how far from our shop in cainta.
