Buying a 2nd hand car depends on a number of things, like condition of the car, pms, odometer reading, etc. In my case, I don't have any headaches with this car so far (knock on wood). Issues hounding the optra:
    - FC: consumes more like a 1.8 or 2L. But if your foot is not heavy on the gas pedal it will be acceptable.
    - Parts availability. So far did not have any problem with this one. Parts from the casa are always more expensive. Try 3rd party sources maybe in banawe.

    General Specs:
    - Engine: 1.6L L4 DOHC 16V - Max. output: 110ps* 5800rpm - Max torque: 150N-m * 4000rpm - McPherson strut, coil spring stabilizer & gas shock absorbers - 10" front ventilated disc & 10" solid rear disc brakes - multi point fuel injection - w/ ABS - Driver side airbag - engine immobilzer - variable intermittent windshield wipers - blaupunkt 6 indash cd/casette player with 6 speakers - steering wheel audio remote control - front and rear foglamps - 5speed MT or 4speed AT - angle adjustable headrests......

< Php 300K? I think a well maintained 06 optra at this price is a steal.

Of course don't forget to test drive it first.

The Optra's handling is really quite good. Part of my fuel saving technique is running the corners at higher speeds that normal and the Optras handling is remarkable. i wouldn't be doing this if the Optra didn't have such good handling in the corners.
