i had my tiggo for 2 mos now, ok naman performance. Last friday,i went up to baguio, kayang kaya i was playing between 2nd and 3rd gear sometimes 4th.
I am not a car enthusiast but i must say i know cars because i had my share of cars since pre med school, through med school and up to now. When I was in the US, i was driving benzes, volvos, bmws, rovers an H2 and some japanese and american cars,no they are not mine but from brothers, sisters, relatives and friends. I am not comparing my tiggo to these cars, i am merely pointing out that i have driven a lot of cars so i guess i could say i am in a position to know a good car when i see one, specially if i have driven one.
My nephew, a real car buff was surprised when he drove it, he said it performed better than what he expected.
Why did i buy this car? Cora ( i think she is the daughter of Mr. Francisco of FMC ) suggested i test drive one. We went to Las Pinas at FMC's warehouse. This is where the Cherys are being stored before going to the dealers. Test drove one tiggo and liked it immediately inside and out. When i asked about the spare parts, they showed us 1 whole warehouse of spare parts. The price of the spare parts? As cheap as the cars they sell. sabi nga nun SA and i quote, " sir pag naiwan nyo susi sa loob, basagin nyo na lang yun salamin sa pinto kasi P450 lang ang kapalit" So, there, paid for it cash without batting an eyelash!
So far, 2 mos and more than 3000 Kilometers, ok pa. Would i recommend it? Of Course!!

    cge sir..

sir parejo, yes its that cheap! durability? it remains to be seen!
sir jj base on my standard, however high or low it may be,d naman underpowered i am cruising at 110 120 at nlex and it has room for more if you want to make a quick pass on cars on the same speed without shifting to a lower gear. Like i said baguio is a breeze. Ride quality i dont know, this my first compact suv,i use to drive an envoy by GMC, a range rover and an H2 in the US. Medyo bumpy ang ride but not uncomfortable cguro dahil nga compact. I only set the thermostat in the middle, a few bars before the red ones kasi malamig during the last two months Ngayon, malalaman natin, summer na kasi. yun sa pinto yes there was a time hindi mabuksan yun pinto sa likod but it was fixed by two shots of wd40, now ok na yun door.
yes sir ill post any experience i will have with this car however good or bad they may be kasi, 1. its a novelty for me ( the Tiggo that is, he he ) 2. For the buying public din para me first hand info sila.
did you know n me six cd changer na to? and you can change the throw of the headlight from inside the car? sa bmw ko lang yata n kita to if i remember right.

meron na pala tong cd changer? wow thats great! at six pa! lupet! and the "you can change the throw of the headlamp from inside the car" do you mean it has a headlamp levelling device like that of the alto? ok rin yun ah!

sir pde bang mapalitan ang head unit nya? curious lang po. kasi kung ako, i prefer the xplod with the usb jack...

sir jj sorry, i meant 6 disc cd changer, its located under the front pasenger seat. the usb input is a mini usb, eto, wala ako makita cable d2 sa tarlac that would connect an ipod or a memory stick to the stereo, read the manual , and to my understading, memory stick lang yata puede na.
Fuel consumption nya, P1500 round trip tarlac baguio including pasyal sa baguio.
I dont know what they mean by wide panel gap sir sorry i cant give you any answer regarding that.

    got this from wikipedia:

In 2003, Chery founded a research and development organization, and began working with foreign consultant firms to improve its technology and quality. Chery hired a Japanese engineer from Mitsubishi to head Chery's Lean/Six Sigma production systems, which were first applied to their cars in 2003. They adopted DURR Paint Systems in their paint shop in 2004, becoming one of only 5 factories in the world to have this advanced paint system. SAIC sold its stake back to Chery in 2004 due to rising tension between Chery and its other partners General Motors and Volkswagen.

In 2005, Chery was upgraded to ISO/TS 16949:2002 production quality, the highest and strictest quality control system in the global auto industry. They also began working with Malcolm Bricklin's company, Visionary Vehicles, hoping to be one of the first Chinese automobiles sold in the United States. The plan was to import five new car lines. Bricklin planned to have 250 dealers in the United States selling 250,000 cars a year by 2007. However, after 2 delays and various disagreements over finances and car design, the deal broke down. Instead, Chery is pursuing its own export plans and is designing a large array of cars for the American and European market and Chinese market. Aesthetic design is being aided by Bertone and Pininfarina of Italy known for their designs for Ferrari and Lamborghini. AVL of Austria is also working with Chery to produce 18 engines, including a turbodiesel, for the new line of cars. The new engine brand, called ACTECO, meets Euro IV emissions standards and uses advanced technologies such as aluminium alloy cylinder blocks/heads and direct fuel injection. Bosch is helping Chery to design modern transmissions. Lotus Engineering (known for their racing car chassis expertise) is aiding Chery in car design and quality. Ricardo Consulting Engineers is also devolping a hybrid powertrain for Chery for use on China's first hybrid vehicle. Chery recently entered into a partnership with Chrysler to produce mid to compact vehicles for the United States and European market.
