i finally had the time to check out a local Chery dealership in the metro. As i entered the dealership, I was greeted by friendly salesperson (2 to be exact). I was able to check out all of their models with ease (as i was the only customer they had at that time). Upon checking the models, I was quite interested in their copy cat Rav4 behind and CRV front (tiggo). As people posted here their comments, I too was able to validate their findings. I noticed different feel when opening 5 doors. Not just one type of feelings, but every door i opened and close felt different. It wasn't as sturdy as I thought it would be. the front seats felt soft with nice texture of the fabrics, but too "living room" feel. It lacks sportiness as a medium SUV should be. The manual tranny of the car felt limb and my feelings made me feel that this car will fall apart soon. It was too soft and felt like a very low priced vehicle. Muscles need to be used to shift their shifters.

Let's talk about the fit and finish. whoooa. what happened here. I saw gaps between the body and doors, something a new car should not have. You can see it by just looking directly at the car. what ever happened to quality check? Not only on the tiggo, but all of their cars in the showroom had quality problems in fit and finish. I only notice bumps on the door, its like a screw that was forcively covered by metals (this is not good). Although tiggo came with ABS and Airbag, I dont think the body can hold up well.

Opening the hood was my next task, from the inside of the vehicle, the knob was soft, then I moved onto the front to open the safety switch. Funny at it maybe, I was looking at all the parts of the hood to find the switch, but to no avail. Even the SA had to teach me where it was. It was slotted in the grill (which was very flimsy). Once opened, i checked out the hood saftely latch. People, it wasn't sturdy at all, I feel that it wiggle too much, no sturdiness. So sad. Now time to check the engine. The engine block wasn't smooth, you will see dents and imperfections all around. It seems that the engine top block was hand molded. This is truly poor quality in workmanship.

I wasn't able to drive the vehicle, but was offered a test drive. I have to decline, it was just too sad.

Chery is new and I must say it has a lot of work in front of it. The German design, high tech facility they boast isn't enough for me to acquire this vehicle at this time, unless given for free. Hehehehhe.

Again, maybe in the future if things improve then maybe.

For tsikoteer in Batangas, may display ang Cherry cars sa Fiesta World Mall, Lipa City. On display is the Cherry QQ and Cowin.

The QQ is cute. 4 seater all power for around 378,000 IIRC. Basic unit is 319,000. My comment is the paint job is really bad. The interior paint is way off shade from the exterior paint. Looks like a three tone car. SA claims this car can get 20 kms/l on its 800 cc 3 cylinder efi engine. Was suprised to see a stick shift w/o a clutch. Triptronic pala.

Cowin is a 1.6 liter 8 valve 88 HP car. Gas and LPG models available. Gas is 465,000 and LPG is only 470,000. Lpg is a factory installed sgi kit from Tartarini. Complete with ecu, lpg injectors etc... Pang taxi daw. SA said if used as taxi they still give 1 year warranty. Standard warranty of 3 years or 100,000 kms daw.

    Syu,

Tama ka. I remember that I said it cost about the same as the Alto. The SA commented the all power QQ is priced similar to the base model of the Alto.

guys, now, im kinda interested with the tiggo. it looks great, and for 699k, its great.(not to mention the safety measures.hehe)
when i visited chery display center here in cagayan de oro, and when i inspected that tiggo, i didn't recognize what av8or5 recognized. i think now, chery is still displaying their cars at sm. there i can ask questions to the new(i think) SA.

when i sat at the tiggo, its ok naman. the audio is good. (guys, can the hu be changed into another brand of hu?i.e. xplod with usb?) and it even have this kinda rack on its 3rd row. it has only 4 speakers but its already good. when i hav the time to visit sm, i can take a look at the tiggo and see those things that others are saying here. and i also remembered the doors. the guys here were right. sometimes it wont close at one slam.

the qq. as what i said in my last post, the doors. when i opened the pass door, it felt hard to open. my dad(who is already inside thru driver side door) have to open the door inside in order for it to be opened. thats minus 1. another thing. the SA lacks traing on there vehicles. they dont know how to use the amt tranny of the QQ. my dad have to experiment on it to find out how that thing works. thats minus 2. but maybe only few are defective. when you're buying this, u have to check everything if everythin's alright before u bring it home.

but i really love the tiggo. the tiggo is not that bad car after all. i want to have it test drive. maybe i can tell my father for us to test drive it when he arrives. only test drives can say, ikanga.

hindi ko talaga kinilatis ang tiggo. kasi yung showroom naman kasi nila dito msa cagayan de oro e outdoor! ang init. tapos ang dami by-passers na grabe umosok. i wasn't that comfortable unlike when i went to the hyundai showroom. at ayaw ko din sa mga sa nila that time. mga babae kasi eh. wala masyado alam. kulang pa sa training.

here in our place, i only saw 2 QQ i think. the red amt was purchased by graphics as a price for that promo. the other one, i think its yellow. parang hindi pa sila nakakabenta ng tiggo. they have here 2 units of tiggo. the black is in their showroom at osmena. the other white is in sm. im not sure if the black tiggo is still in that showroom.
i saw a tiggo crash test.

and the srs did, pop out. but i dnt know why it just fell into the steering wheel, like its deflated. the dash is still there. the front was fairly damaged(its expected. lol) the pics were not that clear. among all chery models, i think tiggo is one of the models that has a harder shell. ewn ko lang kung tama ang evaluation ko.. hindi naman kasi ako expert peg dating jan....

OT: guys, kung kayo papipiliin? ano ba yung mas gusto nyo? a 2nd hand mazda miata roadster or this bnew chery tiggo?
