June 13th, 2008 09:50 AM #1211I do respect your opinion sir. I don't even think you had to apologize for it. Judging by the history of Toyota and the Korean carmakers, Chinese cars could only get better. For us customers, I believe it's only a matter of time before most everybody else takes the plunge and embrace Chery or any other China-made car as a respected brand.

June 13th, 2008 09:56 AM #1212Having said that, I'm just a little pissed with the Alabang salesman I just talked to over the phone. We were discussing the features of the Chery when he starts talking about the nice features of other cars. Apparently, they also sell other brands like Hyundai and the like.
Not a great way to start a dealership if you don't even pretend to take pride in the quality of your brand.

June 13th, 2008 10:50 AM #1213japanese brands during their early years are also CRAP... they were branded as "great imitators" because they just copied their technology.... but now they have improved and we brand them as the best... other countries and brands was also in the same situation like hyundai and kia but now they have improved and offered quality products... now China is in the same situation... they have copy cats of known products but slowly improving and soon they will have their own identity... I'm sure in China and the Chinese are fully supporting their own product even if its "fake or copy cat" this way they will be more progressive.... Soon these Chinese cars will be known for their quality and features...
if we look around there are many brandnew buses that are china made (although they look elegant but cheap in closer view)... now have these China made buses compared to Philippine Made buses like those made by santa rosa. what can you observe.. now local bus manufacturers will have a hard time with imported bus
The problem with Chery cars is their pricing...They should have lower prices because they are on the entry level... Maybe these cars are really low priced maybe it is just the dealer making so much profit out of these cars.. I remember when KIA was introduced they have very low price...although parts was problem in the first but now look every where and you see auto parts catering for korean made cars..
We Filipinos are the opposite... we do not support our own "Philippine Made" products.. that is why we never progress..

My point is we acknowledge its not yet at the standards of the Japanese and Koreans so why bother now. Di naman ito stocks na dapat bumili ka bago umakyat diba? Intayin na lang natin na maging world class na sila before we risk our body's inside that car. Chery so far has not entered the European (Western) and US markets since they are much more tough in their standards than developing markets like Middle East, India and China. Yes the Japanese were not good then, but this is now and that's why I would rather buy those. Maybe as I mentioned before 10 years from now baka pwede na but for now
Kung gusto nyo that is all fine and well, basta ako ayaw!

i thought of it in this way na lang...if i bought a china car at this point...then something went wrong bec of the shoddy quality or worse,an accident...i will wish that i had bought a korean or japanese car instead...patience is the virtue of the wise. hintay na lang tayo...gaganda din yan

June 13th, 2008 11:19 PM #1220wala naman po kasi namimilit na bumili kayo ng Chery cars eh.. the least we can do is support muna yung mga nauuna bumili kung baga eh Moral support muna kung nag ka problem ang Chery cars eh baka makatulong din tayo sa pag improve... nauuna kasi yung pagiging judgmental natin lalo na sa mga new entries... etong sample "wag kayo bumili nyan China made Delikado yan" or "yung besta van ng kia wag kayo bumili nyan mag L300 na lang kayo"... "mag innova or avanza na lang kayo toyota pa (yun pala daihatsu laman)" or " mag KIA kayo OK na daw naku KIA nga eh Killed in Action" " chery cars ba?? baka lemon cars" hehehe
joke joke joke...(peace po sa mga brands na nabanggit halimbawa lang naman)
ako din ayaw ko ng Chery car kasi mahal (at wala na me pambili) but if its priced good.. well better get this brandnew car compared sa 2nd hand at same price..
kung sa safety naman ng car eh hindi na natin dapat problemahin pa yan kasi sa panahon ngayon wala na "safe" tayo dapat mag ingat hindi yung kotse... my kuya has a Toyota Vios and I can say its really good to drive but safety?? although may airbags but during hard braking delikado kasi nag skid agad ang rear wheels and loose control of the vehicle.. so talagang dapat ingat sa pag drive.. kahit malaki or safe ang sasakyan pag oras mo na meet mo na si Lord... (like Princess Diana died in a car crash while in a Mercedes Benz, Dulce Saguisag died in a car accident while in a Toyota Hi ace Grandia may they RIP)
Still a good buy if comfort and timeless looks matter to you. The monocoque chassis rides smoother...
2017 Pajero BK, still a good buy?
