I saw a white Cown or Cowin at East Ave. yesterday morning still no plate # yet.
IMO in 1 or 2 months time Cherry vehicles would be a normal sight in Metro Manila.

Take note... A reliable car means a safe car. A durable car is also a safe car. These little things are just basic stuff that the chinese manufacturers need to learn.
Safety is compromised if reliability is being doubted. What happens if the ABS fails, what about the airbags, what about the brakes etc... And most of all... What about the steering mechanism... If it breaks at 80 kph because you crossed over a pothole... SCARY!
I am a little exaggerated... But don't blame me for thinking such things just because I am very doubtful. hehehe
Do you agree?Last edited by drey; May 4th, 2008 at 09:06 PM.

May 4th, 2008 09:24 PM #1133bro, aling dealership ang nagoffer sayo nito at anong pangalan nung SA -- approved na kasi yung option ko sa libis dealership pero i have to be in cebu and bohol this week kaya towards the 3rd week ko pa maasikaso yung pagbili ko ng smiling QQ (am planning to get the 800cc AMT) -- am supposed to make a 40% down (P149200) and my monthly for 3 years is P7982 -- kaso walang freebies - am paying for tint and even floor mats -- kaya attarcted ako dun sa deal sayo na zero down tapos mga 10k lang for 3 years at may setup kit pa.
salamat.

Saw a lot of Chery's running already. So far wala pa naman akong nakita na tumirik. Let's wait after 3 months???? hehehe...
I have so little faith. Sana maiba na perception ko sa chinese cars at import na nila ang mga electric versions.iam3739.com

May 5th, 2008 09:47 PM #1138This is my first post. I made my leap of faith and got my yellow Chery qq311 2 weeks ago. It was more of an emotional decision rather than a rational one- I've been in love with the silhouette of the qq since I first saw the Daewoo Matiz when I was posted in Saigon in 1999. Then it was introduced here as the Chevy Spark but I was turned off by the close to P500k price. So I waited while Iseway launched the Chery cars last year and waited for more feedback and finally I made my decision to purchase my dream car. I got mine for P349k with free tint, matting and seat covers.
The first things I did was replace the radio/cassette player with a CD/mpeg stereo, bigger Bosch horns (para galangin naman ako sa kalsada) and added 2 4x6 oval speakers at the back (buti na lang may abang). I also had my unit undercoated for better rust and soundproofing. To my horror when the unit was lifted I saw bare metal (!!) near the running board where the joints are welded. It's a small spot lang but I thought these cars are dipped in positive/negative charged primer? Buti na lang the metal was still shiny so I bought a spray can of primer and that fixed the problem. The service guy was able to put 4 coats of Shell Rustguard underneath since it's a small car so that made me feel better.
It's good that I managed my expectations because when I drove it I was pleasantly surprised how maneuverable and light it was on the controls. The clutch is a bit on the heavy side though but it shifted well. The aircon is very good since I never put the thermostat to the highest setting and the blower up to no. 2 lang (4 being the max) and my wife was already complaining of the cold. So I shift knobs and she complains that her feet are freezing naman! The Chery SA told me the aircon was Sanden but I'm not really sure.
I'm filling up my tank later and I can't wait to see the the fuel consumption numbers. All I can say is that I think I'm going to be able to save a lot on my gas bills as compared to my other cars. I don't know if I'm just looking for justification to make myself feel better that I bought an untested Chinese car.
So far so good.

May 5th, 2008 10:21 PM #1140congrats sa new ride mo sir Gobing, please post more comments and observations with regards to your new ride in the days to come
Still a good buy if comfort and timeless looks matter to you. The monocoque chassis rides smoother...
2017 Pajero BK, still a good buy?
