i searched it in wiki... ISO/TS 16949. strict nga po ung quality control on the production of the car pero nde lagi ibig sabihin nun na maganda ang results nun sa crash tests. maaaring well-built po pero the structural design itself (e.g. crumple zones) is not effective in dispersing impact energy (boils down to R&D).

kahit sa US naman invaded na rin sila ng china products. it's ok to have a china made na keyboard (kht di tayo sure kung safe yung amount ng lead na nasa plastics at ibang materials ng keyboard and the like..hehe).. pero kung koche na..ibang usapan na yan. especially pag sasakay mo families and love ones mo.mahirap na..tsk tsk.
siguro mag-iimprove pa sila.. i'll just wait for that time.

April 26th, 2008 08:16 PM #1124Hindi kaya natatakot lang ang mga pinoy na magdrive ng china made cars dahil baka pagtawanan ng iba and ginagawa lang excuse yung safety? How many of us drive 92-97 cars? During those times safety is not really a priority of making cars. Kahit nga ngayon bagsak yung lancer sa euroncap eh. Also low powered naman kasi yung car so I think very low yung chance na patakbuhin yon ng sobrang bilis, and compared to bikes, I'd say it's a lot safer.

Pumasa nga kaso after 6 months nagkalasan na interior panel etc... On the 8th month tunog truck na ang makina. Don't ask me I used to be an owner of a privated honda wave, motor pa lang yun eh how much more pag kotse.
But pera nyo yan so go live your life to the fullest and buy a cherry.

i drive a 1973 dodge colt coupe. yan ang hindi safe. pero for some car manufacturers na nag eemerge ngayon.. i think technologies for safety issues are readily available and issue na talaga ngayon yan. so it's hard to think na bakit hindi na-take into considerations ng china cars yun. di lang naman siguro usapan nun na pag yung oto mo yung bumangga..what if ikaw yung banggain? tsaka bat naman mahihiya e worse pa nga yung designs ng hyundai dati pero nag-click. basta sarili mong oto proud ka kasi yun ang pinaghirapan mo. imo

But then, this R&D need not be Chery's spending. Since they're already "COPYING"... is it IMPOSSIBLE that they copied STRUCTURAL DESIGNS as well? I don't think so.
If I was the one copying/adopting, I'd make sure I copy the safety designs as well, hindi pa ako nagastos sa R&D tulad nung kinokopyahan ko.

kahit papaano po pinaghirapan nila na di "masyado" kamukha ung clone nila. maybe that's how they define R&D. copy that, make it a little unique, mass produce it.
ang di nila nakopya ung technique on how to make the structure crash-safe. maaaring parehong-pareho ung body parts pero malay ba nila na kailangan may specific strengths ung structure to disperse impact. probably they thought that slapping airbags on their clones would suffice.
Still a good buy if comfort and timeless looks matter to you. The monocoque chassis rides smoother...
2017 Pajero BK, still a good buy?
