Still a weatherman. I did transfer to a much higher paying job in NY.
Originally, we were supposed to buy a 2nd house in NY as an investment (rent out) which we did. But, I also found out there were several positions open for my career field.
I applied, got accepted, and now living here in NY. Our house in AZ ended up being the one rented out. It's not quite what we had in mind originally. But, the wife is happier here because she's closer to her recently immigrated relatives who set roots at the East Coast. She also found a job. Kinda weird with both of us finding jobs pretty fast in this recession.
Me? I'm not fond of the winters here. Too much snow. But, if the wife's happy then I'm happy. Plus, the higher pay will do good for my 1.5-year old's college fund.
The company also offered to sponsor me should I go for a Master's degree in Meteorology. There's several good colleges in NY that offer it. Of course, I'm also covered by the new 9/11 GI Bill.
So yup. I consider myself extremely lucky during these hard times.

Also, looking at usajobs.gov, there's plenty of jobs. It's just a matter of being qualified for them.

If that's the case, then hindi rin pala lahat ng nakaka-afford sa kanila ay hindi frugal mag-isip...
