sa palagay ko lang naman - medyo manipis ang possibility na may lalabas na mas magandang ERP system to compete with SAP. medyo marami na rin kasing user ang SAP and SAP is not seating it out, they are continuing the systems improvement with new products. katulad na lang ng kumpanya ko na mag upgrade to SAP ERP Central Component (SAP ECC 6.0) this is built on the SAP Netweaver Platform.

Oracle (their closest competitor) can only manage around 25%. they are the Microsoft of the business software world... a bit untouchable already.

they managed to this by expanding from their core ERP (R/3 or ECC) offering... they are now offering solutions that can operate with / without their ERP system (like SCM, SRM, CRM, APO, etc.).

currently... we are building a case study for us to upgrade from R/3 to mySAP 2005.

I got a chance to be involved with our company's worldwide deployment of SAP a few years back. SAP is really a very big software and it can manage everything for a company from HR, Warehouse, Inventory, Finance and Manufacturing etc. best thing is it can be "personalized" for the company based on the "business" process of that company. my advice is, aside from the technical stuff learn the "business" side as well. there are alot of technical experts out there, and some(with better tech know-how) are willing to take a smaller paycheck like our brothers in india and stuff. Esp. nowadays things can be managed remotely and companys are tightening their belts.

yung junior consultants nasa 30K lang or lower in some consulting firms.

that's why the key is to know MULTIPLE modules... kapag isang module lang ang alam mo medyo mababa ang market value.
