Meralco also overbilled me once. This happened when my meter was found to be defective and they changed it along with some backcharges which tripled my bill.

June 7th, 2012 12:56 PM #16Bro, the best remedy for your troubles is look/buy an analog wattmeter - GE square type; let it be calibrated by Meralco. Connect it inside your house for monitoring purposes. After every month, your actual kwh used should tally with kwh used on your bill. Kung masyadong malaki ang difference, baka may nakasabit sa linya mo. The difference should not be greater than 2kwh. A 1% error is neglible.
I have a pamphlet about decreasing the reading of your analog meter but all are illegal (4 or 5 methods); at saka, may karma yan.
The only legal way is to buy a device that will make your electrical phase to unity. I have seen it on TV (from Taiwan, around P3000 or whereabouts.) Beware, marami raw peke.
