i've worked in the US all my life. it is HIGHLY inappropriate for someone to ask a coworker how much money they make. maybe you can try it if you are very close friends, but more often than not the person you ask would be highly offended that you did so. just fyi.

i agree with you bro..actually in the US it is even IMPROPER to ask someone about his/her personal life even age and address for that matter...kung meron mang mga pinoy na alam na alam mga bagay bagy about other people---it's because pinoys are basically tsismosos....hehehe

That's because people can discriminate according to income levels. Discrimination here is a very sensitive topic. While that is very respectable, honestly maarte din naman ang mga kano eh. I mean if you look at it, kaunting problem lang aangal sila kaagad.

Madali lang sagot dyan, if somebody asks you how much you make in a month, sabihin mo "not enough!"

ako naman professor, per hour mukhang malaki kasi sa iba min wage na un per day, but u cant work the whole day it will burn u out, so few hours lang un.. plus u go home bring ur work for making exams, grades, etc. though me secretary naman tska assistants na pwede mo pagawa, pero as a whole, ok naman... in terms of living in the phils, pero sa abroad wala tong comparison, pag peso, singapore lang super laki na, us pa.

as far as working in the lawfirm, it depends, i see partners and hot shot lawyers in millions, but for a novice associate, its really small for the tons of work ull handle, a little bit higher than some colctr peeps, but either equal or less than being a professor in a university. what gives u a higher pay would be the hourly billing hours, transpo, hearing attendance fees, and some profit sharing when cases were concluded, but were not there yet, so, technically its still small as of now from the other career i came from. its really envious on how lucrative it is to practice law in the us (but ofcourse laws are limiting because its philippine laws that we study).

it will give u enuf money for food, some nice clothes, a gf, some nite outs, some extra gfs mybe 3 or 4 (joke), and some money for an amortization and gadgets, but never enuf for a house and lot.. grabe ang prices ng mga new villages ngaun, i think i cant afford it in a few years from now, its like gazillions.. except mybe if i pay it like 15 to 20 yrs. in terms of family it will still be a challenge.

hopefully if my new carreer plan works out, hopefully it may pay off... in the long run.

btw, any feedbacks of how much profs, and lawyers are making.
