Personally, I'd stay away from educational plans.

Look at what happened to planholders in recent years. daming hindi naka-claim and lots of companys filed for bankruptcy. Your money's better off invested somewhere else.

if you are getting one, get one from life insurance companies...those products which are tied up with life insurance. it is because life insurance companies are regulated by the insurance commission compared to pre-need companies which are regulated by SEC.

the insurance commission mandates life insurance companies to increase their capital every now and then which ensures stability of the company. may mga legal reserves din ang life insurance companies as mandated by law.

although i am not to discredit pre-need companies, may mga stable pre need companies din naman like Philam, Prudentialife, etc. i think mazdamazda can help you with prudentialife.

but as per my recommendation above, try to look at the product of insular life. may educational plan din yan tied up with life insurance. i got my son one, which will give him the face amount of the plan when he turns 16. he can use that for his college education. aside from that, he (and me as the payor) is covered by life insurance in case something happens to him (and me) before my kid reaches age 16. and yes... it is payable up to 5 years only... sort of a limited pay plan and an endowment plan.

    imho...

Bro time deposit ka na lang sa BPI para sa bata medyo malaki din percentage may insurance pa yun para sayo. Halimbawa may nangyaring hindi maganda sayo may makukuha ang pamilya mo. 60k yata yung minimum deposit.

I can recommend the Prudentialife Educational Plan, presently using it for my son who is enrolled at CSB. does not experience any problem, I can get the check within 48 hrs after filing.

Other plans yata has problem like pacific plan and college assurance plan.

is this the same co that keep on harassing people in the mall? telling them they can win big prizes, but thr truth is they just want you to go with them so they could sell you insurance... I don't think anyone should trust their money on a co. that used this kind of marketing....

sa umpisa pa lang niloloko na nila ang mga tao..if their product is that good then why don't they sell it as it is...
