This year... Minsan kasi kakain lang sana kami (or grocery) tapos biglang madadagdagan gastos...

Things we do to save money... (I'm not based sa Pinas so my sister keeps saying na hindi applicable itong tips ko sa kanya)

Maximize sales/marked down items... Brands like H&M, Cotton On, Forever 21, Uniqlo, Giordano, Coach, Prada, G2000, M&S, Kate Spade etc - palaging sale...

Shoes - Outlet kapag may time

Gadgets - timing is everything... I replace phones sa house namin every 2 years kasi recontract ka, subsidized ng telco tapos yung 2 year old iPhone, maganda pa resale value. Not applicable to Android, pero ako lang naman Android user sa bahay so talo ako on that part.

Maximize Travels...

Maximize Duty Free... Make-up, sun glasses, Lacoste

Maximize online shopping...

Movies - avoid the first week, do it on a week day, pay with a card na may partnership yung cinema.

    Iwas sa buffet

Iwas sa trip sa Pinas... Eto pina-expensive destination namin!

Point here is bibili ka din naman... Example ko here is Jeans... I was due to buy one last year. Normal price ng Uniqlo S$50+, di naman nagmamadali so I waited for the year end sale... paid S$12.50

Giordano (normally shorts), once nag offer sila ng S$10 on the second pair, 2-3 weeks later, buy one take one (malapit office ko sa mall kaya madali mag abang)

Good for you that you live in an ideal world. In my world, there are far too many sham marriages.

Sakit ko yan. I have so much shopping bags that remain unopened because it's too good a deal to pass up on. But I think in the long run it still helps me save. Now that there are a lot of sales, if I see something that I think my friend or family will like, I buy it already. Most of the time I just stock up and keep it on my "gift cabinet"

Well at least you have a lot of family and friends treating you out while you are in Manila.

    Something I forgot to add...

Coffee bean na lang gastos namin which was taken over ng colleague namin from Batangas, fresh beans weekly (wag lang masama weather)

    (2) Meeting sa labas in the morning...

3 words - budget, budget and budget.

I have an app in my phone where i can set up a periodic budget for all type of expenses. I can track my actual spending and analyze where I over/under spend. I can also use it to monitor all assets (cash on hand, in banks, investments, cars, etc.) and liabilities (credit cards, loans, etc.) so I would be able to determine my networth and cash flow position any any given time, including a 2-year outlook. The downside is I have to religiously input my expenses and income daily or as often as possible. It also has a function to capture receipts for future reference. And the best part is it can sync across multiple platforms (pc, ios and android) that me and my wife can access it and we can check our expenses and cash position anytime of the day.
