Unless it's seldomly used, super inefficient na yan. Lakas sa kuryente.

Yupp, super tibay old appliance such as ref.
But hindi na kaya babayaran electric bill.
Umabot last time sa 8k/month bill ko, until we ditched our old small Panasonic non-inverter ref.
We replaced it with inverter and our bill now stabilize to 5k.
We have one aircon sa bahay last time but non-inverter + ref + LED TV lang, din ganyan na bill namin last time.
mga 18 hrs din aircon nun.

Now we have 2 inverter ACs, 1 inverter Ref, 1 LED TV, bill now stabilizes to 5k, last time we got 3.8k pinaka lowest during colder days (Dec).
I know mataas pa rin to, but our family member is using the AC for 18hrs. So less lang pahinga ng AC resulting to this electric bill amount.

So if we stayed with that old super tibay ref, we paid 36k+/yr sa electric bill alone. Liit pa ng compartment ng ref.
We bought that refer for 10k though, the inverter replacement is more or less 30k.

Yung old electric fans gingamit na lang if may bisita or kapag may manghihiram..

Those prices are outdated na. It's continually going down.

Solaric is quoting 270k for 5.6kWp. Scale that up to 40kWp and it's just 1.9M, not counting economies of scale where it's usually cheaper to do larger deployments.

You're right though the cost is exclusive of the battery backup system. It's not strictly necessary if the goal is just bill reduction but you want one to get the no-brownout experience.

Agree also on the ROI. March is right in the middle of summer and we had a very hot one. Hindi naman every month the electric bill is 71k so on colder months it'll be generating and saving less, but IMO it should be comfortable below 6 years na. Baka 4-5 years now instead of 5-6 years.

I have a window-type aircon that dates back to 2003 original purchase. Still working although a bearing seems in need of replacement.

Its not often used though (once or twice a week, sometimes less).

Yung 15 years na Kolin window type namin, once a month andar sa guest room since wala naman halos gumagamit. Lakas pa din lumamig, maingay nga lang talaga compared sa mga bago
