    Yikes. Balik na sa topic...

Anyone here who ever used Bankard One? Meron pa ba nito ngayon? For some reason, I wasn't issued one along with my Bankard Visa Classic, unlike my co-workers. But in retrospect, ok na rin siguro na isang Bankard lang yung binigay sa akin.

yun ang bad part, napakuha ako for my wife, di naman kalakihan, dalawang plan , yung isa bayad na, parang sugal na lang, so far wala pa naman akong nababalitaan except dun sa di magandang style nila. Yung isang friend ko, napakuha din ng policy worth 1M. chargeable din sa credit card niya yung first year premiums. Sorry OT na pala. Back to topic, pag di mo pala nabarayan ng ang credit card bill mo ng buo, kahit isang sentimo lang, you will be charged the interest for the whole amount of your credit card bill , laki kasi akong one time payment lang. Nalaman ko yan nung minsang mag pa charge ako ng annual fee for me and one extension card against my reward point.

all financing charges for all credit cards are based on the principle amount and not on the remaining unpaid balance.

    addt'l info about credit cards:

    1. balance transfers - usually without processing fees/charges but they do collect interest based on the repayment term you choose.
    2. revolving credit - interest is based on unpaid principal balance forwarded from previous statement PLUS all current purchases this statement period computed on an ADB (i.e. average daily balance) basis. so, if you always pay the minimum amount, chances are most of it will be applied only to the interest which results to about the same amount of principal (or it may may even get bigger until you max-out your credit limit) over a long period of time. ito ang gusto ng mga credit card companies that's why they lure you with ever increasing credit limits.
    3. interest rates - this is market driven plus the fact that each individual credit card company factors-in the volume of their past due accounts. technically, the good creditors shoulder the repayment of their bad debt portfolio, in part at least. so if you want to know where you can get lower interest rates, the companies volume of past due accounts is a good indicator including that of their parent company.
    4. prepayment penalty - this is usually charged when you decide to preterminate & pay the outstanding principal of your installment purchases or balance transfers.

hope above info will be helpful..

i'm leaning towards BPI classic or BPI-Petron. but from the looks of it, mukhang mas ok yung classic because it has more perks than the petron card, plus a lower annual fee of 1250 (which i will eventually have waived) and interest rate of 2.99%

btw, you can pay your bills via internet banking through your cc with BPI right?

daming low interest credit cards ngayon. just make sure you don't miss a payment, cos the 2.99% will immediately jump to 22.99% or more. and they don't have much of a grace period either, parang trap nga ang labas eh.
