Can you feel the effect of a "Strong Peso"?

phils shouldnt manufacture. its useless to compete with china. lets do something they cant. like services or hi-tech agriculture or something

I heard over the radio yesterday, i think he is from an OFW group, in essence he was saying that Overseas Pinoys should boycott sending their remittances because of the strengthening peso (i think it breached the 42 mark yesterday).

while i am not an ofw, IMO if a group of ofw's who can afford not to send remittances back home elect to do so, this might actually help stabilize the peso. the problem is if they keep their money with them and then suddenly remit money in droves this xmas season, we might get a sharp appreciation of the peso, which in turn will be even more detrimental to them.
