if this is for gma's approval, i think di to ma aaprove.

the reasonthey implemented evat was to increase govt revenues. kasi kulang.
so if they are gonna reduce income tax, mababawasan ulit govt revenues.

    opinion ko lng po

Actually, this could be the best time to push a popular tax reduction for the salaried voters. In desperation this government might just grant our wish for tax relief. Kapag tinulak ito ng administration mahirap kontrahin ito ng oposisyon kung sila mismo ay nangangailangan din popular support.

On the contrary, I think the revenue lost from reducing income tax can be gainedd from an increase in Evat returns. And this will also make the distribution of the tax burden more proportional to income.

The rationale is this: The more the income (either salary or profit), the more goods one will buy. Buying more goods means paying more tax. So people who can afford to buy more goods, will contribute more to the country's coffers. While those who purchase less, will contribute less.

    Ceteris Paribus applies of course
