I watched this event last week, it was a cool experience. It is a fundraising project co-hosted by Zahir Rana, one of Canada's premier car tuners. He invited the owners of exotic cars to gather and find out how fast they and their exotics can go. For $1500, the invitees get all accomodation, a private instructor and a chance to drive very fast without fearing a speeding ticket. The Canadian Forces Base is known to have one of the longest runways in north America. All the participants who drove beyond 300 kph got a chance to race an F-18 Tomcat.

After the speed event, most of the participant drove 40 kms to Bonnyville. They auctioned chances to hitch a ride with the exotics, a lot of people spent (or donated) more than $100 for this opportunity.
