Better aircon effeciency leads to better fuel economy. That is the main reason why ni-retrofit ko dati yung sa 4th gen strada ko. And now yung stock HID system ng strada GT ko ngayun ay plan ko rin palitan ng Morimoto d2s 4.0, XB35 ballast w/ philips xv c1 35w bulbs.
For me unless you have poor eyesight at night you dont need an HID upgrade if you have a clear tint. But if you still go on the HID route, it'll be a good investment as long as it is properly done and you have a budget for it.

Same lang efficiency ng dalawang Altis ko with VK70 and no tint (both 1.6MT). Sure, the aircon has to work harder, but overall the additional load isn't as big a factor as traffic or driving style.

Sure effects is not that huge nad not a big factor to some people but for me a small difference is better than none. But then again that is not the main reason why I chose the retetrofit route. Its because of the dark tint I installed. I guess clear tint is just not for me.
Either that or its the itch of modifying everything in my car that is responsible. hahaha.

A bit OT: anyone tried sourcing the retrofit parts themselves (say via AliExpress) and having them installed locally?

Kaya ba mag DIY retrofit? I've seen youtube videos. Looks not so hard naman. Bit of cutting here and there. Sealing, alignment and done. Except for the wiring if single beam to bi conversion.

    good day,

plano ko din sana magpa retrofit, car is ek civic. upon reading this thread, i have three choices.
nakapagtanong na ko kay hidretrofit and redline, almost same price lang packages nila, altho magkakatalo siguro sa parts.

hidretrofit stage1 includes 2.5" projectors, bulbs, ballasts, wirings and install. 13k
    stage2 aftermarket performance package 18k

redline stage1 package includes h1 projectors, nhk h1 bulbs, hyluxtek ballasts, wirings, 2yrs warranty.
    stage2 - 17k
    stage3 - 22.5k

hindi pa ko nakapagtanong kay xenon concepts, being the cheapest among them, mukhang ok naman din ang gawa nila.
i think nhk and koito naman ang gamit nila.

    1. ask ko lang sa mga naka stage1 dito, worthy upgrade na din ba from stock? or much better value for money ung stage2 nila?

    2. ok ba ang nhk and hyluxtek brands? not familiar with these brands kasi.

    3. any idea magkano aabutin if morimoto projectors and Philips bulbs ang gagamitin? upon reading sa mga sites im thinking of going h1 or d2s setup from these brands, if kaya ng budget. if not, stick na lang ako sa budget packages nila.

need your suggestions/opinions. salamat po sa sasagot.

Nagpakabit ako ng stage 1 sa xenon concepts yesterday sunday. Drove it kagabi at very big upgrade and difference. Sulit sa price nya at magagaling mga tauhan pa. Home service and sunday pa ginawa.

    PM sent bro!

Personally, headlight upgrades from stock halogen to HIDs are a must especially if you have difficulty driving at night, ageing, poor eyesight or just want more safety.
Though heavy tint at front would defeat the purpose
