In my quest for continuous improvement with my retrofits, I have been looking around for a projector that can be an improvement over my FXR setup. I think I've found one After testing for a couple of weeks, finally I've mounted it on a Civic FD 2008 and the results are very impressive.

Projector is aftermarket, i.e it is not installed in a vehicle as OEM but rather an improvement of the FXR. It has thicker output at the middle and most of all, the cutoff is more straight and light distribution is more uniform over the entire output. This is the S22 bixenon projector. It is of course D2S but it is not bolt on. I developed this setup as the A3 is a tight fit for smaller headlights like the Civic FD, Altis 2009 above, Montero Sport, Dmax or other vehicles with halogen projectors. This setup is recommended for halogen headlights with 900x/H7/H1 bulbs.

The first recipient is a Honda Civic 2008 FD. S22 projectors, Philips 85122+, S22 shroud with CCFL, 50w ballasts.

HI with the halogen HI of FD. This is a good bench mark for headlights of this type. The halogen HI really helps the HI output of the projector in throwing light further down the road.

The following pictures will show the width, sharpness and a very straight cutoff of this setup:

It easily lights 2 lanes on the left and right, this is usable light not just light bleeding into these lanes.

    color and straight cutoff

width of the output, very impressive to say the least

Is there a light comparison picture of 4300K, 5000K and 6000K?

Napapisip ako sa 5000K due to the better output compared to 6000K.

jhnkvn: you wont really see it in pictures but actual lumens measurements are very obejective. At 6000k, you lose already around 20% of your output. Better 5000k kung gusto mo na mas maputi ng konti. D1S ok? hehe

S22: Ubos na the few sets I have. Next week dating new stocks. Am retrofitting a Montero and a Ford Focus

    Sir Gary,

    1. Ganda ng latest S22 projectors, with angel eyes pa! Non-invasive din ba installation niyan like the A3? Which is better S22 or A3 projectors?

    2. Is headlight lens cleaning inclusive in your retrofitting work especially for old cars?

    Thanks.
