Kasi yung pag init ng sobra ay isang symptom ng loose connection.

wire gauge guide - http://www.mgcars.org.uk/MG_Elec-Tech/wire_sizes.html
probably between gauge 16 to gauge 10 ang need mo depending on the power of the current flowing (amperes).
hindi ko na kasi tanda yung physics ko kung ano ang formula ng watts e. If you know this you could more or less estimate the wire gauge required to fit the 12 volts source and also know kung ilang amperes ang rating ng wire would also be the amperes rating ng fuse (probably a bit less so masunog muna ang fuse before the wire heats up and burn - tama ba ako o mali?).
Anybody good in electronics should be able to work it out.
Don't forget to upgrade your bulb sockets to ceramic too.
