I suggest you search and read some threads first bro, if your not sure of "SA for hatchbacks of no specific model", somebody might refer you an SA of 'hyundai jazz' or 'honda getz'....

same here, it was hitch free, it was pre approved though becuase i was doing business with BPI for at least 2 years already so the manager knows me and my wife. It took us 2 months after the approval to finally buy a car.
Just like most of us here although i got a pre approved car plan with BPi i still decided to scout the other banks just to be sure. Aftre a series of computation (sorry i forgot already) the one with the lowest interest was BPI, followed by BDO and last PS/MetroBank.

July 6th, 2009 11:32 PM #55Hi,
I've just received a text message from PS Bank saying I have been accepted for the Montero 4x2 loan. I was wondering whether at this stage I can haggle the interest rate lower than what was computed by my SA? Any more tips on getting a better deal at this stage?
Thanks

July 25th, 2009 12:22 PM #58the TS (that means thread starter, ryt?) went to the bank first then the bank provided the list of dealers, is this usual? is it better to go to the dealer then after find the bank with the best interest rate? I noticed there was no mention of discounts from the purchase just freebies.

July 25th, 2009 12:51 PM #59Bank first before dealership, in terms of Interest Rate.
If you have time on your hands you should:
- Explore each bank and see which one fits your needs (loan term, interest rate, banks requirements, full balance pay-off etc)
- After you've chosen a bank visit more than one branch to get different perspectives.
- Then visit/call/text different SA's from different dealerships and try and get the best offer out of them, bend the truth if you have to ;)
- Discounts & freebies vary from one SA to another. I was texting 3 different SA's from the same dealership and one was able to offer me loads of freebies and the other two wouldn't budge. But it depends on your persuasion techniques too lol
Sometimes the bank provides you with a list of dealerships because it suits them (business contacts, good friends). It's best to explore & exhaust all possibilities before you part with your hard earned cash.

July 25th, 2009 01:07 PM #60Very informative! Yep, I'll do just that and start soon. Just that, how do I practice to be persuasive? hehehe... I'll work on that
What "truth" will I have to bend, like pit them against each other?
Can I do all this by phone, calling and texting? Or do I have to visit each of them?
