RPT or amilyar is set by local government like the cities. Not congress. Di yan kasali sa train.

They are obviously lying trying to sway the mindset of the gullible public as that has been the modus of this admin.

I'm all for starting to build our long dilapidated infras but they could have thought this more through. The petrol is an easy revenue target because of its high and inevitable consumption but the negative consequences are far greater than what the DOF/Congress/Senate would have bothered to think or care about.

And the DTI is absolutely toothless with regard to controlling the prices of commodities that are and are not directly affected by TRAIN.

The next two years will add more TONS to the people's already heavy burden.

By law, the RPT is set to be reviewed every 3 years, but do not expect a review that will set it lower

You can lower your RPT by paying early so they will give you discounts.

    Grabe talaga!
A company produces something and profits.

The manufactured product of the company is taxed. (excise tax)

The company as an entity is taxed based on the profit. (corporate taxes)

The remains, some of which are given away as income to executives and employees is taxed. (income tax)

The expenses of the employee that is bought from income is also taxed. (VAT)

    ---

In short, quadruple taxation yan minimum.
