September 18th, 2012 07:32 PM #11For an elantra at 958k, 30k premium is a very good one already. Remember that the rates for SUV and sedans are different. Cars have higher rates. Standard rate for a car is 2% of the fair market value. Then add another 0.5% if with acts of god. Rates of course vary for each insurance company. Plus third party coverage that can reach about 2k. Then pinakamabigat ay yung 25% tax. This roughly 25% of the premium goes to the government, not the insurance companies. Assuming na 1m ang value for ease of computation:
20,000 for OD/theft
5,000 for acts of god
2,000 for standard voluntary 3rd party
Total is 27,000 plus 25% of 27,000 (6750), total is 33,750.
If it is an SUV, the amount would have been about 25k.

try to remember also that in insurance "service is their business" look for a reliable company and a dependable agent.
