Unioil EURO 5 Gasoline/Diesel

Last Sunday offline din sa Guadalupe, first time ko na encounter.

Pinagawa sakin, sign up na lang dun sa app/loyalty card nila for P4/liter discount sa 97RON. Nag earn ng points yun and free yung app/card.

Napaisip ako kung mag renew pa ako ng S&R next year. Mas mura kase yung P4/liter discount in the end plus nag earn ka pa ng points.

Ive exclusively used unioil snr to top up, its been years since that happened, usually happened during the start of the roll out of the discounts during the first 2 years.

Might be the station itself just saying it is offline or they are relying on mobile internet thats why the connection is spotty.

Even the newly opened unioil in my area doesnt have an issue (so far) when i tried to top up.

Im qc based, but ive tried even their bataan station and no connection issue with snr terminal for the discount

Maybe its the station itself. Sayang lang because the gas stations in that area really sell cheap fuel. Diesel in that area sells ₱47-48/lit & with the ₱2.50 discount, considerable savings. I think I will go back to Caltex in Carmona.

TheUninvited mentioned a different workaround (But slightly lower discount) by availing/using the Unioil app/card should S&R Terminal be offline.

Haven't availed myself of this but if it is easy to create an account, and SnR be offline, might do this myself. Similar to how I availed myself of the Shell App to get engine oil discounts. hehe!

I'm personally not a fan of Caltex fuels. I don't know why but my butt dyno keeps feeling like I'm always stuck in "cold start" running mode (even when temp is already normal) when I use our Montero with Caltex fuel. This is anecdotal but it has happened more than once so I just moved to Unioil and never looked back.

In my area, the cheapest fuel pre-discount is Unioil West Avenue. Those along D Tuazon, Mayon, Q Ave are all higher by at least 2php for the petrol. Don't recall much the diesel prices. So I tend to favor going through West Avenue as it is just a slight detour.

But, if you are not going to end up with Unioil then...

Caltex is partnered with HSBC for fuel discounts after swiping to reflect on CCard Billing statement as a rebate on the 2nd month (if I 'm not mistaken).
Shell is with Citibank (I'm not sure if they've updated policy here like Mercury Citibank where it requires other transactions accumulated first to avail of max rebate)
Unioil is with Eastwest (similar discount with Unioil App/Card. But I don't think you can stack or earn points when using this bank card. Correct me if I am wrong)
Petron is with BPI
Seaoil I can't remember if there is one.

Who did I miss?

Security Bank cashback card you can get 4% rebate on gas station transactions and it is not locked to any brand of gas station.

Caltex and RePhil halos magkadikit lang ang price in that area. Also to consider is Petron along Carmona rotunda.

thee neighborhood ptt here consistently has 2-3 pesos less per liter (gas, diesel) than the big three.
it's conveniently located for us, and hindi binabaha.
tons of pujs and tricycles patronize it.

totoo kaya ito euro 5 ng unioil? parang pusit kase yung 1gd-ftv july 2021 innova namin (ODO 5000KM) na nag tatae ng maitim na carbon sa tambutso kapag naka parada

since day 1 ng innova namin eh unioil diesel lang kinakarga namin, ngayon 5t KM na, hinihintay ko lang ma ubos ang tangke at lalagyan ko ng caltex techron D fuel cleaner

Do you run the engine a lot while the car is parked?
If it's spewing black smoke when idling the engine is probably running rich. Intake manifold might be full of gunk from EGR operation.

Dami mo problema sa innova mo, from the uncomfortable seats and ngayon parang pusit na exhaust.

Might be better dispose of it and get a new vehicle. Make sure to test the new vehicle thoroughly though para sure ka sa binibili mo.
