Its not an urban legend. and it is for safety precaution.
while filling gas hindi mo ba napapansin umaamoy yun gas? it means may vapor in the air. a little bit of spark or even a static energy kaya nga pati usage ng cellphone bawal din kasi everything can cause it to flame.
by the way i salute shell services, most of them accomodating and mahigpit sa pagpatay ng engine.
unlike sa petron medyo hindi service oriented ang mga staff. and the fill-up kahit buhay ang engine mo. tsk tsk.

April 23rd, 2012 11:42 PM #75napansin ko lang parang naging V8 ang Revo ko nung nag XCS ako,
ewan ko parang lumakas lalo consumption niya,
or baka less liter lang kasi nakakarga compared to Unleaded.?

May 23rd, 2012 12:58 AM #77Good evening mga sir,
For the past 7 years I've been using Shell Unleaded for my Gas Revo 1.8 efi, not that I prefer this brand and variant or anything, but:
- A Shell station happens to be accessible to my daily driving route
- Was advised to stick to a fuel variant and brand as much as possible, pero rare case xtra unleaded kpg desperado na mgkarga
My friend na 2003 Gas Revo user uses Petron XCS, and told me he gets better mileage. Again, I guess not by the brand, but maybe because of the higher octane rating. Curious lng po ako since 93 and 95 are both acceptable to the engine by specs, but by book it says high octane are for high compression engines, is the revo engine classified as one? Will the better mileage worth the extra penny? Is it true that 95 is better for efi engines?
Sorry dami tanong, I'm a newbie in car fuel knowledge, thanks sa advice mga sir!
