afford: money, time, effort.
i know of some folks, who commute to and from the province, everyday. tanauan.. dasmarinas..
may drayber sila.

gas depends on your ride and drive style. toll depends where you exit - toll rates here.
these days, you can't depend on traffic being light even outside of morning and evening rush hours. but, your idea is insane. the drive distance and time you lose on the road is too much even with no traffic.

Possibly, sa open area parking yan.... (Lane O, Lane P and other open area parking)
Kung weekdays naman, kayang kunin ng 1.5HRS ang byahe from Makati/BCG to Tagaytay.. kung friday ng gabi at weekends naman, aabutin talaga ng 2.5HRS maximum time travel...
Maliban pa kung merong aberya sa highway at biglang malakas na buhos ng ulan..
Kung fuel ang usapan, kung meron naman fleet card. hindi issue yan, kung personal ang expense, dyan papasok yung driving style at fuel strategy kung paano makakatipid, kasi kung lone driver naman at wala namang full load sa sasakyan, talagang FC efficient, kakain lang ng FC yan pag pa-ahon na papuntang tagaytay.. (sa silang dadaan) kung sa alternative road naman, lalo sa aguinaldo daanan, expect the traffic, yun lang yung time travel, +30-45 mins....
