December 9th, 2006 01:39 AM #901i've been using it on the trooper for 4 months now and it's doing it's job as far as improved emission is concerned since isuzu diesel engines are notorious for their exhaust fumes. have not really computed if mileage has also improved but am more after cleaner emissions.
from what i gather from reading this whole thread it's the market price. chemrez is a well established company and bioactiv is expected to be topnotch in quality. i don't mind the cost as long as i get the benefit of cleaner emissions. and i only use 1.5/2% blend at most so it's worth it.
if it's cheap it ain't good. if it's good it ain't cheap.

December 9th, 2006 12:57 PM #903portu: best effect ng BD is cleaner emissions. Tama yan bro!
Chemrez complies/exceeds specs ng PS requirement including ASTM and DIN standards.

Alam nyo ba correct email adddress ng isuzu philippines or japan?
please help....and thanks!!!!!

Almost all Petron stations sell Chemrez's BioActive. BioActive is the brand name name of the biodiesel. It's B100 or 100% CME (CocoMethylEsther) Biodiesel. You can buy them in 500ml and 225ml bottles. Eto yung white/clear plastic rounded bottles with green print. Meron kasing mga old batches that were released na me kanto na tig 1 liter. I would not recommend it kasi old batches/stock na yung mga yon.
Kung magpapa karga ka ng 20 liters na diesel, lagyan mo ng 1 liter ng BioActive. Yan ang B5 mix or 5% Regular Diesel+Biodiesel mix. Ako ang sinusunod ko is P500 diesel=225ml BioActive (smallest bottle).
As for the Isuzu warranty, I suggest that you call your service advisor for a formal or written statement. Most manufacturers allow 5% Biodiesel mix (b5). HTH.

December 12th, 2006 01:25 PM #909I just bumped into this on the net - a motorhome that takes in raw waste vegetable oil (no pre-processing needed, biodiesel is generated within the internal self-contained fuel system-just pour in the waste vegetable oil).
Specs :
40-ft. motorhome (bus-type) with 21-ton gross vehicle weight
11-liter turbo-diesel engine with 450HP
12.5Kw diesel generator
Maker of the wvo-to-biodiesel equipment is Frybrid ( http://frybrid.com/ )
"Frybrid has realized the dream of Dr. Emmet Brown's Delorean: putting garbage directly into your vehicle, and have it be turned into directly into fuel. This past fall, Frybrid installed a system into a 40' luxury RV that sucked up waste vegetable oil from the back of restaurants, removed the water and filtered it, and then burned the dry and cleaned vegetable oil as fuel. The family drove their converted RV from Seattle to Rhode Island on $47 worth of diesel fuel. Plans are underway for a smaller version of the system to fit in the bed of a pickup truck."
Here's their story : http://www.liquidsolarpower.com/default.htm
Here's a picture of the wvo-to-biodiesel equipment : http://www.engadget.com/2006/12/10/a...-47-of-diesel/
I think they already have wvo-to-biodiesel equipment that's compact enough to fit in a pick-ups bed. No more home-brew, just pour in the waste vegetable oil.
This is the control panel for a Mercedes Benz W124 wvo powered turbo-diesel :
simply amazing.
