April 4th, 2006 11:06 AM #721On the net, most of the homebrew BD made in the US and in Europe are for heating oil (for winter, homes have a small boiler in their basement and steam-radiators in every room) and for older farm agricultural tractors.
Nevertheless, I'm still impressed at the complete fuelmeister setup (thanks to the link redorange) -
Sana may end-product testing kit para ma-measure yung free glycerine and free fatty-acid content para may peace-of-mind before we load it into our fuel tank.
Homebrew BD - I'd use it for non CRDI engines. Mas-tighter and exacting ang tolerances ng CRDI (i.e. mas maselan sa fuel quality).
Patulong tayo kay rsnald, sya yung resident BD chemist natin dito sa thread. I think he already made some homebrew last year, 'til naubusan sya ng oil feedstock.

Hi All!
I'm actually meeting the local dealer of the FuelMeister tomorrow here in QC.
Usually, this set up is for personal use but can with the capacity to do some small scale selling.
You can use the oil from fast food chains. You can recycle the oil so it ends up in your tank and not in the sewers where they contribute to pollution. Not to mention you can use the by-product in a lot of ways.
There are ways to tailor your biodiesel "recipe" to meet all existing standards or at least come close depending on some elements. It will take some work though.
You can try reading "From the Fryer to the Fuel Tank" by Joshua Tickell. This is one of the items that introduced me to the world of biodiesel.
Hope this helps.

April 4th, 2006 06:15 PM #726hardcharger: Bro sino local rep ng fuel meister? Im curious how much yung set up?
jaeger: bro sa mga forums na navi-visit ko there are many bd homebrewers na sa vehicles nila ginagamit. I've searched alot of info on the net and one of the best site is found in http://biodiesel.infopop.cc/groupee/forums
I've done several batches already for my own use and it is not that complicated if you do proper titration and you have the right equipment. Glycerin content you can check by just washing the BD an doing the gel test. I was successful just on the 2nd try. The result was crystal clear BD na amber ang color. Unwashed pa yun. I would suggest reading other material aside from J.Tickell's as marami nang improvements sa homebrewing after that. If you can get the WVO for free then homebrewing is worth it.

April 4th, 2006 06:28 PM #727flagg: tagal mag deliver ng Senbel sa akin ngayon eh. Try mo muna si Weng sa AMR
Yung local homebrew ko: doing it on a small scale basis successful nako. Not complicated. Baka pede moko bigyan ng WVO mo. He.he. 1 ton lang.
Of course if you homebrew sayo lang yun. Dont sell it sa iba. Kung may kapitbahay ka gusto mag-uzi and bumili sayo, tell him homebrew. Kung ok sa kanya eh di ok, ok di ba? (daming ok nun ha)
altec: how are you my friend? kung free yung WVO mo then sa calculation ko worth it. I need nga pala yung micro filter. SIno ba contact dun?
Nature ko to experiment so I am doing many small batches now and post reaction processes (washing, drying, etc.). Of course I wouldn't put my homebrew BD sa Fortuner, Tucson or Starex na CRDI. Eh wala naman ako nung mga otong yun so ok lang akoLagay ko sa ELF ko and sa lumang pick up to do a long term test. I am also mulling on using direct WVO. Interesting din yun.

April 5th, 2006 02:15 AM #728garyq. We purchase the micro filter from any parts supplier shop. If di siya ganun ka available sa manila, PM or text me for which car, will try to source here and will send it to Manila. You can pick it up sa makati office, san juan, or duon sa ortigas home depot.
Curious tuloy din ako diyan sa home brew. For every kilo or liter of WVO, how much BD will it produce? 2nd, is it still worth it if the output is only BD? Isn't it there is a side product that is used to produce soap? But if you just throw that away, will it still be worth it? 3rd, why wouldn't you want to try the homebrew in crdi systems if you are confident you did the process properly?

Thanks for the info sir altec!
Aba sir garyq naaliw me dun a... gusto ko i-testing yung BD in one of our bulok trucks. Tingnan ko kung kaya niyang buhayin. Need kasi linis tambutso palagi para lang di ma-smoke belching.
Since bulok truck ito, I won't really mind kung homebrew ang pang-test ko... for this experiment, supply ko WVO tapos bayad ko nalang other raw mats... kung ok with you sir garyq?
Sir hardcharger, pede po ask how to contact yung fuelmeister dealer? Thanks!
