Rafraf mentioned my research. The thread BIODIESEL FUEL ECONOMY RESULTS is also here in tsikot but inactive. Surprisingly, maraming hits, pero walang comments, kaya di ko na lang na update. The updated version is over at kotse.com. For your easy reference, please access the link below.

Oo nga pala, there were problems with more modern diesel engines before, like the Isuzu Trooper, or vehicles with rail-type diesel engines. Was this resolved na?

Yes, this was finally resolved. The culprit was dirty local diesel. When the SUVic Bighorns (Trooper) entered the local market, prone to tirik sila - in the middle of the road, the engine would just shut down, and the ignition key wouldn't work. Shell conducted a thorough investigation after reports that Bighorns engine shut down after loading with Diesoline. Shell engineers found out that CRDI's need fuel filter with at least 2-micron filtration capability, since the orifice of the CRDI's injector nozzles is equally as tiny.

What's worse is that each injector in a CRDI engine is controlled by a solenoid switch which is slaved to a sensor linked to the ECU, so if dirt gets stuck, the solenoid switch trips and sends signal to the ECU to interrupt the injection cycle thus effectively shutting down the engine! The ECU would lock the ignition key to prevent further damage to the engine. So tirik sila in the middle of the road. Pre-chambered and DI diesels don't have this problem since the hole in their nozzle tips aren't as tiny - fine dirt can pass through and get combusted, and most also don't have an ECU (injection is not electronically controlled).

It can filter up to microns of dirt to prevent the nozzles from plugging kasi Crdi nozzle tip is too tiny ga buhok lang ng kabayo ang orifice nya. Take note that BioActiv quality parameters surpass those of japan and korean diesel. Bioactiv (100% pure) has cetane number of 68 and 70 from the test conducted in SGS Japan and Denver Colorado in US. This are valid data and incurred lot of expenses for Chemrez. You may check guys sa web site namin www.chemrez.com the test conducted at Tokyo Metropolitan Research Inst. for Enviromental Protection sa Japan last year on mitsubishi and isuzu truck using chassis dynamometer . . . .

Senbel is NOT using waste vegetable oil (WVO) for their BD. I am sure it is the same with Chemrez. Mataas pa ang price because mahina pa demand. 10% sa dealer katulad ko to be frank with you guys. So right now mahalaga mag mainstream para bumaba price.

Oks! Thanks for the post!
