As I gassed up yesterday and about to put in Senbel BD from their 1-li bottle, I looked inside the bottle and saw plenty white chips floating around, so I opened another bottle and same thing - there were still tiny white chips floating on this other bottle.

When I got home. I let the bottles sit so the chips would settle at the bottom and pour the clear BD into my fuel tank. I got some of these white chips and squeezed them between my finger and they felt like wax and just melted away.

Ano kaya ito? If this ends up in our fuel filter, do you think the heat of the engine bay would melt this and go through to combustion. My hunch is - this is the portion that didn't mix well and turned up to be glycerin/soap material? tama ba ito?

Parang yung sa Discovery Channel 2 weekends ago when they made biodiesel from used vegetable oil (from french fries) - the batch they made didn't react well (kulang sa catalyst) so little BD was made but a lot of glycerin/soap material turned out.

Did anyone here also encounter the same white stuff?

GUys: Iba talaga kasi marketing route and concentration ng Senbel. They are pushing that BD be mixed sa pump na. This way madali mag main stream and use ng BD. Senbel is the primary mover sa mga bd mfg together with the government in moving the Big3 to mix BD. How it will turn out? I dunno. Yun ang napili nilang rota so small distributors like us will really have to wait. Mas maganda ang marketing ng Chemrez for the first timers or retail users so it works out naman. Mahalaga kasi maging main stream. One company pushing the big guy and another company letting prospective users to try bd. End of the week pa ako meron stock but limited coz marami ng nag pre-order so text me if you need one. 9178554454

Its more expensive by 60centavos I think. And according to the gas boy I talked to its already mixed with biodiesel but I dont know at what percent.

altec was the first one who encountered this white stuff and reported it in the kotse.com biodiesel thread. It's the second to the last post on this thread : http://www.kotse.com/forums/index.ph...pic=2718&st=40

The Senbel 1-li. bottles come with a sealed twist-cap so the last time they were opened was in their Lucena plant during filling. I'm sure the BD are thoroughly filtered before filled into the bottles. During the storage process, di kaya may continuing reaction pa yung ingredients kaya nagkaroon ng by-product na glycerin?(guess ko lang).

The Senbel BD in litro-bottles I bought in July didn't have the bottling dates stamped at the bottom, but those I bought in August already had the production date.

RE: The tiny white chips I found floating with the Senbel BD. Out of curiosity, I did the following:

I put the BD with the white chips into separate glass bottles with around a inch of BD with it. I capped one bottle and shook it hard, while I capped the other bottle and left it under the sun for 10 minutes.

Guess what, on both bottles, the tiny white chips dissolved completely without a trace - they're fully soluble in BD. This being the case, I guess the white chips is a non-issue anymore. Whatever they were, I'm sure they'll get through all the way to combustion.

AFAIK Yung sa Plaza Dilao lang ang merong premium diesel sa Manila, mas mahal siya ng konti sa Envirotek nasa 31+/ltr.

parang "sebo"? although it seems that your experiment shows that the substance is harmless, di kaya dapat i feedback ito sa senbel?

Jaeger, the bottle that you shook, do you still have it? Baka natunaw dahil sa hard mixing that you did? Kasi kung sebo yan, delikado. But I doubt it kung sebo. I got pure biodiesel and refrigerated it for over 1 hour. With any ordinary cooking oil that has glycerin in it, you would see the white top layer film going downwards, yung tinatawag na sebo. But the one I put in the ref, after 1 hour, ok pa, not a single trace. I didnt try it in the freezer, kasi naman I read that biodiesel will freeze at around slightly above 0 degrees celcius., and 2nd, it's not normal, di naman tayo ganun kalamig sa pinas. What I reported was white gel like substance that looks like uhog o plema. This was also reported observed by another tsikoteer, as well as purportedly claimed by AMR in Cubao. What that is, I still don't know.
