BTW yung mga BioDiesel Manufacturer sino kaya ang supplier nila ng coconuts? Baka kailangan nila ng supply?

falken: not that I distribute BD but as of the moment Senbel has the biggest capacity to make BD so most likely they will play a major role sa supply chain pag main stream na.

Frank: Senbel is in Quezon, the heart of CoconutFarming so I think dun din ang supply nila. Sana BD na lang gamit ng mga bus natin sa EDSA noh para mas malinis air natin sa Manila. (kahit kaninong BD gamitin ok lang basta cleaner air for everyone).

Coco-diesel sale in all gas stations eyed

THE DEPARTMENT of Energy expresses its deepest appreciation to Frank E. Lobrigo who wrote about his personal experience with coconut methyl ester (CME) or biodiesel. (Inquirer, 3/16/05) He said in his letter, titled “Tree of the future,” that his SUV now runs faster and smoother, with the engine noise and smoke emission significantly reduced.

Lobrigo’s experience affirms the commitment of the government to promote, through the DOE, a stable and reliable supply of clean energy, as well as to speed up the growth of the coconut industry with countryside development in view. In fact, no less than President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo issued Memorandum Circular No. 55 on Feb. 9, 2004 directing all departments, bureaus, agencies and instrumentalities of the government, including government-owned and -controlled corporations, to use CME for their diesel requirements.

On Lobrigo’s observation that coco diesel cannot be found in gasoline stations, we would like to tell the public that since September last year, CME products, such as Envirotek and BioExceed, are already available in selected Flying V and Seaoil stations in various parts of the country. Negotiations are underway with Shell, Petron and Caltex for the sale of CME in their outlets.

hindi coconuts ang kailangan ng BD manufacturer...coconut oil ang gamit nila. unless mag backward integrate sila into extracting, milling and refining coconut oil directly from coconut meat. ganito ang alam kong existing chain of supply nyan...

coco farmers harvest coconut --> coconut meat taken out of coconut and dried as copra ---> copra sold by coconut farmer to coco oil mill -->coco oil miller extracts coco oil, refines coco oil and sells to various customers --> biodiesel manufacturer buys coco oil from coco miller and converts it to cocodiesel /CME

yung iba yatang coconut millers have their own coconut plantation (like san pablo oil). Unless heavily engaged din sa farm products ang isang manufacturer, there's no sense to backward integrate to coconut farming, harvesting, milling, and refining.
