OT: currently at hongkong, my obsesrvation; even old looking isuzu diesel delivery trucks (and all other big buses and cargo trucks i have seen) have no black smoke whatsoever. since its probably the same engines available in the Philippines, it must be the quality of diesel fuel contributing to their clean emissions. hope to have (even nearly) same results when using biodiesel
thanks

April 9th, 2005 11:03 AM #143kurt: i have several friends using senbels BD on their Trooper na CRDI 4JX1 engine. Maganda results. Though I dont think you will go near the failing mark sa emission tests pero tingnan mo na rin. WHatever the case the BD will be good for the environment.
manyan: si altec is buying from me then shipping it to Cebu via sea.

Coco-diesel sale in all gas stations eyed

THE DEPARTMENT of Energy expresses its deepest appreciation to Frank E. Lobrigo who wrote about his personal experience with coconut methyl ester (CME) or biodiesel. (Inquirer, 3/16/05) He said in his letter, titled “Tree of the future,” that his SUV now runs faster and smoother, with the engine noise and smoke emission significantly reduced.
Lobrigo’s experience affirms the commitment of the government to promote, through the DOE, a stable and reliable supply of clean energy, as well as to speed up the growth of the coconut industry with countryside development in view. In fact, no less than President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo issued Memorandum Circular No. 55 on Feb. 9, 2004 directing all departments, bureaus, agencies and instrumentalities of the government, including government-owned and -controlled corporations, to use CME for their diesel requirements.
On Lobrigo’s observation that coco diesel cannot be found in gasoline stations, we would like to tell the public that since September last year, CME products, such as Envirotek and BioExceed, are already available in selected Flying V and Seaoil stations in various parts of the country. Negotiations are underway with Shell, Petron and Caltex for the sale of CME in their outlets.
