    Bigger wheel diameter generally translates to better fuel consumption....

    It will depend on several factors. Wider wheels will cause greater friction and poorer FC. Bigger mags and wheels will be heavier and again have a poorer FC.

    Bigger mags/wheels will deliver more distance as one revolution of whatever turns the wheel, because of the bigger circumference. However, you would still have to know the ratio of the bigger wheel versus the smaller one and multiply this against your meter reading to get your FC.

    So if you can get bigger mags and wheels that are lighter, then you can expect better FC. But this is too much work - enjoying the ride and a lighter foot (on the gas) would still be the best option for great drive.
