If you are after the same power with LPG, you would probably require using a SGI type LPG kit. For a car with under 2.0L engine, the kit would be around P50K+ as compared to P28K for carb type kits. This pricing is based on my survey of the more reputable LPG installers in the metro area.

The lowest priced installer is NAIADSS. They have at least three installation sites which are located:
    1. Pioneer St, (somewhat near Robinson's Pioneer) Mandaluyong City (main site)
    2. EDSA, near Taft Ave, Pasay City
    3. Buendia near Filmore St, Makati City (small site)

I suggest you visit them so see if they can convert your van and also for the actual pricing as well. Typical problems would be space for the kit in the engine bay. You can try asking for a discount, you can get P1K off the advertised price.

    Hi, newbie here.

Is there any other way to mount an LPG tank into your car aside from the trunk? I have an audio setup and my subs already take the inner part of my trunk, so am wondering if there are other options?

In some other installations, I have seen "donut" tanks which are placed where spare tire would be located.

An alternative is to fore-go the sealed box subwoofers and go free-air subwoofer setup and use a smaller LPG tank.

    Gud day gentlemen,

please check out this latest development in LPG tank technology which is currently undergoing ASME certification in NZ, Canada and US. These are made of aluminum and are better shaped to take the place of the usual gasoline tank!

Wow steve, ang ganda ng mga bagong tanks! Kaso this will also mean that the car will no longer run on gasoline, pure LPG na lang because the gas tank will be removed....

Unless... We have a separate cylindrical tank for gasoline sa Trunk! Yeah! That sounds like a cool idea. LPG under the chassis, and gasoline in the trunk Binaliktad lang natin sila

Yep, exactly what I had in mind. A five-gallon jug with an electric fuel pump inside would take up very little trunk space and have enough mileage to an autogas station. All items available at any surplus shop or ebay.

    Dear Web & Ghost,

I thought this simple calculator would be helpful to explain the economic advantage of Autogas in Manila, and put an end to that recent flame.

This calculation is based on actual results with my 1999 Kia Pride GTX, manual trans.

Distance driven on a tank of gas
    600 km/trip
Litres used on trip 60 litres/trip
    Annual vehicle distance
    30000 km/year
Propane economy as % of gasoline economy
    75.00% conservative estimate
    Price of gasoline 45 P/litre
    Price of propane
    27 P/litre
Cost to drive trip distance on gasoline P 2700/trip
Estimated litres of propane used on same trip
    80 litres/trip
Cost to drive trip distance on propane
    P 2160/trip
    Fuel Savings per km
    P 0.90/km
    Annual Savings
    P 27,000 P/year
    Cost to convert vehicle
    P 23,000
    Payback
    0.851852 years

why even risk using a five gallon jug?... You can always use a small racing fuel cell. Readily available plus its crash rated not to rupture.
