anyway enjoy me sa lpg system ko ksi i dont have to worry weekly about dun sa pagtaas ng gas na grabe 42 or 43 na ata!

what white powdery substance?... never saw this accumulate in my system.

The shut off system is designed for major leaks not slow leaks.

if you suspect a leak check all the joints and hoses for any raptures or breaks, use diluted dish-washing fluid in a dispenser with a nozzle (empty dishwashing fluid bottle) and squirt the solution on all joints and elbows and check for bubbles -- it's pretty much like looking for leaks in your a/c system.

-- Just washing your paper element air filter may clean the dirt but the washing and scrubbing can damage the filter media and seriously affect its filtering efficiency.

I just gassed up at 25.40 per liter! I hope the coming petroleum price increases will be proportional for all fuel types, so we can keep our economic advantage.....

BTW, experts forecast Crude Oil at $100 by year-end -- so don't expect gasoline prices to come down anytime soon! You can do your own math on what our pump prices will be at that point! hard to imagine.

Carbon Monoxide fumes from petrol and diesel are poisonous, but raw Propane does not produce CO and is so safe that forklifts are converted to Propane so they can be used indoors, just like your gas stoves......

please enlighten us?
Hi Steve,

Well, Ive always been told that LPG was poisonous. Strange that I couldnt find materials on the net about it... However, when I was with the LPG technician, he mentioned that the LPG may cause "Suffocation", so I looked it up and lots of websites appeared attesting to LPG causeing suffocation if inhaled in large doses. So apparently it isnt really poisonous but...

from http://www.lpgas.co.za/safety.html:
Most fatal accidents involving LPGas in South Africa are usually suffocations and/or carbon monoxide poisonings, caused by a lack of ventilation. Once the problem is understood it is not difficult to make the necessary provision - bearing in mind however, that two vents must be provided; a lower ground level one through which fresh air will enter and, a higher or ceiling level one through which the warmer, stale air can leave the room.

from http://www.shellgaslpg.com/site/page/14/lang/en:

Like mains gas, LPG has no smell and so a strong "stenching" agent is added before delivery to help detection of any leaks. LPG is flammable in air and although non-toxic, large quantities could cause suffocation.

...Apparently the mechanism for suffocation not a direct toxicity like poison but rather involves the displacement of Oxygen in the room. Thanks for bringing up the matter

I just brought my car up to Tagaytay partly in a bid to test the LPG system and to finish up the tank...

Well, the LPG system still hasnt been tuned to optimum performance and I found that it really didnt have a lot of power going up. I decided to switch to gasoline on certain parts of the highway. Of course, it didnt have any trouble when we were going down.

Anyway, the other thing I discovered was that the system starts producing a low-pitched humming sound when I step on the gas pedal as the tank is nearing empty.

When the tank was nearly empty, the car simply lost power. It didnt die out yet, but it simply had no power to go forward when I step on the gas pedal.

I inquired about this with Sharon of clean autogas, and she told me that my car, being a 1997 model, lacks an oxygen sensor. If I had an oxygen sensor, the system would have switched automatically to gasoline at that point.

Anyway, she claims that most car models year 2000 up have built in oxygen sensors, while those below year 2000 don't.

Anyway, they tuned my car by plugging it in to a computer then adjusting the timing of the lpg injectors. It feels a bit stronger now, but still not at par with gasoline, so I think I will go back and try to tweak it some more.

Also, they've changed my 67 liter tank with a 60 liter one, so now my trunk has more space than before

btw, here's a picture of my car (and sharon). She still hasnt sent me pictures from her digicam, so I took the pics using my phone. hindi nga lang ganun kaganda yung quality... Il send you guys the pics from her digicam when she sends them... She's a lot prettier when she smiles ;)

My car attached to her computer (di nga lang makita yung wire ng mabuti)

Attachment 9893 Attachment 9894

Attachment 9895 Attachment 9896

Here are the pics of the dashboard switch:

On gasoline mode:
Attachment 9897

On LPG mode:
Attachment 9898

Attachment 9899

I chose this location for the switch, because I already had an old generic foglamp switch located there, so they just made use of the old hole (explains why the swith isnt so centered). The technicians wanted it in a more visible place, but I dont think they were able to find one kasi puno na dashboard ko But the location is nice, in my opinion.

I just had our Corollas and Sentras (EFI) converted to LPG last week. After much testing, I was very satisfied with the performance and the savings that I was getting that I was thinking of also converting my personal car (2.7 gas Fortuner) to LPG with gasoline option switch.

Has anyone tried converting a Fortuner (gas) yet?

Guys any Lancer 2003 MX CVT owners here who've undergone LPG conversion? I 'm planning to have a kit installed before this year ends. How's your consumption and was the performance the same?

Any inputs about latest prices and the best place to get the kit?

Thanks!

I saw a 1st gen RAV4, 1st gen CRV and 1st gen Camry being converted to LPG today. That's along with the other taxi cabs being converted as well.

Actually both 2 stroke and four stroke can be converted to lpg but the issue with the 2 stoke engine is that still burns 2t oil and the replacement(eco-friendly oil) is very expensive...

helo,

also, san ba nakalagay gas solenoid valve nyo for carb type before pumasok sa fuel pump or after ng fuel pump? feeling ko ksi mali pagkakalagay nun sakin hindi ba dapat before the fuel pump yun para wala na talaga pupunta sa fuel pump?

thnx

I think CNG is mainly applicable for diesel engines. CNG also requires a stronger (and heavier) pressure tank to store it within the vehicle.

Hi guys,

I just computed my car's consumption after finishing up a full tank. I did a full 499km on a 67 L tank. Since the 67 liter tank would have been around 55 liters full my estimated is around 9km to a Liter of LPG however, since I started the car in gasoline mode, my lpg consumption would probably be around 8km/L... Not bad for an 11 year old 1.6L lancer, considering my car's mileage when it was brand new was around 9km/L too. ;)

This was with the old tuning specs I had. The new tuning specs increased the amount of lpg being pumped into my engine. It gives me more power but Im expecting it to consume more. Il update you guys later on...

When I was refuelling my lpg kit at P25.70/L the taxi next to my car talked to me and told me he was able to refuel at just P22/L in Pasay the morning of that same day. He showed me the reciept which showed the cost was P22/L. The name of the place was ISLAND... Island something...parang Island gas yata...

Anyway, basta may island. It was in Pasay daw, near the Pantranco station. Do you guys have any idea where this is?
