Vogas is a brand of Auto-LPG kit.
SGI-LPG kits a re generally better for cars with modern EFI engines because of better air-fuel ratio control resulting in better fuel economy and engine power than the older venturi system.
All Auto-LPG installation shop offer SGI kits.
Anybody here experienced problems with their vehicles when using petrol? My corolla is having problems starting up. Had this checked by the mechanic and I was informed that when using LPG, it starts fine but when using petrol, the engine would just die. When my intake manifold was removed, there were so much tar-like deposits inside which was eventually cleaned. My fuel pump and fuel filter were recently replaced. I'm guessing the fuel line from the gas tank to the fuel filter may have been clogged with solidified petrol like the one that happened to my fuel injectors before. Is this possible to occur on the fuel lines? I'm thinking of having the lines replaced/cleaned. Can this be cleaned or should this be replaced automatically?
It's not solidified petrol. It's all the mud like dirt at the bottom of the tank (our fuel supply is still 3rd world quality). Since we don't use gasoline as much, the dirt in the gasoline has more time to settle down in the fuel lines, something that wouldn't happen if the car was still running on gasoline.
Best bet is to have the fuel lines checked and replaced if needed. Also it might be recommended to have the fuel tank cleaned as well.
I already had my fuel tank cleaned twice since I had my lpg kit installed. The strainer in the fuel pump assembly was all dirty and muddy when I had it cleaned. I was really surprised with the dirt that got into my tank. Do you have an idea where I can get those fuel lines? I don't think there are a lot of stores that have those in stock. Also, do you know of any shops that can clean the lines? Thanks GH.
The dirt comes from the fuel station you buy your gasoline from. It's at its worst when they have just received their new shipment of gasoline since the settled mud would be aggitated when the fresh gasoline is pumped into the underground holding tanks.
My fuel lines were replaced at SPEEDLAB. I don't know where they sourced it.
Once the fuel lines are clogged, I dont think it would be possible to have them cleaned since the mud gets pretty hard.
anybody noticed what happened to the website of greenfuel? iba na ang laman. I've planning on going there for 2weeks already. got lost on all attempts.
And now someone is running one-sided LPG articles on PDI:
http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/87255/d...g-fueled-taxis
http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/87251/e...ealth-concerns
The writer should have done more "research".
Agree! It's already getting tougher to maintain our industry since support from the gov't has been scarce and bashing from reporters with no knowledge on the subject hurts even more.
I have been driving 2 cars running on LPG for 5 years now an Accord and Innova and I have not encountered any symptoms described in the articles.
The problem with taxi cabs with Auto-LPG conversion is NOT the LPG itself but with either the age of the taxi-cab or improper conversion/maintenance of the LPG or taxi itself.
Going beyond LPG leaks, I blame the writers not doing enough research on the issue. Even if they have a deadline for it, they have a responsibility to get a balanced article which would include reasons why such happens. The word of a movie producer (who is not an expert in health or cars) is not a credible source of information. She has her opinion and that it.
I still say the majority of the health issue supposedly link to LPG/taxi is more related to the SICK BUILDING syndrome.

LPG Tech Gurus, may few questions lang po. I have been contemplating on having LPG kits installed on my car but I still have doubts as to whether or not I should do it. I have a few concerns kasi,
1. I travel to the Pangasinan back and forth always, I sometimes leave the car there for my mom to use, my issue is that there are absolutely no LPG refilling stations anywhere in the Province, will I still be able to use the car? Will I still be able to fill it up with Unleaded gasoline?
2. How hard is it to maintain the kit? Is there any particular issue that I should be worried about if I lets say had one installed?
3. What's the leading brand out in the market? Who's the best person to run to for repairs? Usually around how much does a kit cost (ordinary/expensive)?
I'm sorry di ko na binack read yung last few pages, limited lang kasi time ko sa net. Thanks.
Your car can still run on gasoline (duel fuel function). I start and warm up my car on gasoline (Petron Blaze) and i keep the gas cycle function on (every 15 mins, the car switches to gasoline for a few seconds), and do a few hard runs from time to time on gasoline to ensure that i keep that system running well. With this, i add P 300 to P 350 worth of gasoline every two weeks or so (i add gas when my Petrol level hits 1/4).
I use my LPG Altis to Zambales, Batangas, Baguio and Pampanga. I can do a range of over 500kms on one tank of LPG (the 65L cylinder tank) and so far i have not experienced running dry to the extent i had to shift to gas (in Baguio there are LPG stations). I usually put a full tank of LPG in Total EDSA Balintawak before entering NLEX.
1. A car converted to Auto-LPG can still use gasoline like any normal car. BUT you have to balance the fact that you will be using LPG more often. If E10-gasoline is left in the fuel tank for longer than FOUR weeks, it will start to become "stale" and results in a rough running engine with dramatically less engine power.
If you were to have non-E10 gasoline in your fuel tank, it will still be good to use over FOUR months later.
2. The only issues with LPG kits is you might have to use a "colder" sparkplug than what you use for gasoline, although I have been using my regular sparkplug without issues. So it's generally a case-to-case if you encounter slight irregular engine operation.
You'll also might need to drain the accumulated water in the LPG vaporizer every 10,000 km. But it's something that can be done in a few minutes at your LPG station.
3. I could suggest XOOM Auto-LPG. They have been quite good in diagnosing issues with Auto-LPG conversions. Auto-LPG kits vary in price depending on install type and tank preferred. Best to call them.
Nope. No problems. I don't even use my gasoline system that much. I can even start my engine on LPG (although it would take a couple of seconds more cranking).
In theory, the only difference with a taxi cab is the extended use per day. So what we drive in a week, the taxi would do in a day.
Xoom will be introducing a new Lubricant for LPG cars made by Petronas, its PETRONAS NGV LUBE 15w-40
Main Advatages:
• Prevents valve torching and recession
• Extended drain intervals as natural gas is not
liquid so hardly any oil contamination
• Superior cleanliness and wear protection
• Superior oxidation and nitration protection
• Prevents spark plug fouling and thus keeps your
spark plugs working longer
• Low maintenance costs and extending oil
change intervals to give superior fuel economy
benefits
• Prolonged engine life and maintaining engine
power
Will update when stocks arrive.
Petronas is the same company that sponsors F1 Mercedes Petronas team of Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher
anyone here knows where to buy an lpg leak detector? I know may odorant naman but im looking at something that would sense leaks as a last defense pag pumasok sa cabin ang lpg fumes
*xoom
is that an oil that is specifically for lpg engines or like the flashlube system?
Thanks Vinj and GH :D
Do we still get to keep the old tanks or, they will replace it with the LPG tank? How often do you guys use gasoline? Everyday, just during start up? My car now does 5~8 per liter, and 11 on the Hway. Matakaw for a 1.6. Sluggish pa umarangkada, kaya one of my option na talaga is itong LpG the other is ibenta ko na sasakyan. :D Pag may time backread naman ako.
